Information Do NOT attend w/out showering or putting deodorant

IT DOESN’T COST MUCH TO BUY A STICK OF DEODORANT OR TAKE A SHOWER

Idc what you do or where your from or whatever your cosplay is don’t show up smelling like you’ve been spoiling out in the sun for a week or wearing a shirt you slept in or sweating through your clothes ( even if it’s hot which I get it , it’s LA)

Do not make the mistake of offending my delicate nasal passages again

Idc how hot you are or how tight your dress is. Offend my nose I will offend you and call you out in front of EVERYONE

Stereotypes aren’t there because they are offensive they are there because it’s a pattern

In the 2 years I’ve gone, I’ve showed up every time to be hit with BO.

If you want to dress like a fox or like a Pokémon or whatever do so, but don’t be such a method actor to present yourself like you live in the natural environment.

Clean up and who knows you may find a reason to come back the year after, booking a hotel for 2 or 3 apparently polygamy is the thing after demon slayer (then again who doesn’t like female ninjas)

Showering is important but also most importantly scrub your back and armpits. So many people neglect those parts and that's where most BO is smelled when following people in crowds. Simple swipe of deodorant goes a long way.

Also if you're backpacking make sure it's not a culprit of bad odor and old sweat from prolonged use. Get a fresh bag and deodorize.

Spicy food does that too it just breathes out of the skin creating a stench & it's not a lack of poor hygiene. We're so funky😭

Hot take but I never understand when someone says everyone stinks at a convention- whenever I go I smell like 2-3 bad people out of the thousands I pass. But maybe im nose blind

Well if you have 100k-ish people, packed inside a building, in the middle of summer, in a poorly ventilated building. Then some con funk is going to happen due to the sheer number of people. Do some people make it worse by not wearing deodorant and not bathing. Yes, they do. There’s still going to be some happening just because of the number of people packed into the LACC during the Summer. People still complain about it every year though.

Don't forget panel waiting lines are often outside. In the sun. People are going to cook, and then come back inside.

It was only in a couple of spots last year that I encountered, but the people who stink STINK like ROTTING GARBAGE!! Fingers crossed the artist who makes Hatsune Miku Deoderant comes to AX to save our souls (and noses)

“A bit much” I’ve gone to Anime Impulse in Anaheim and when I got home I felt more dirty than I do after a 12 hour Shift and a 1 hour gym session. I can’t imagine anime expo 😭

Try to use a face mask, it can hold back the smell a bit. Also, why don't you hand out small free deodorant? It's a bit insulting, but that's what they get. Maybe they don't have money.

Besides the non deodorant wearing people. Sometimes all that stuff just comes off when you stand in the sun for an hour or worse when you're bunched up in a line for a panel. The collected body heat just mixes into a wild odor that follows you every where.

I'm calling you out is diabolical. I've been handing out bars of soap and hand sanitizer to everyone that smells to me. So for you to yell at them is insane. I'll be around filming to see their reaction when you yell at them.

Honestly, you're better off bringing a perfume or cologne you like, spraying it on a cloth, and smelling it after walking past unwashed ass. I learned this after going to Ren Faire a long time ago.

I've been going to AX for over 20 years. It's nowhere near as bad as these goofy posts would imply. Sure, a handful of people over the 4 days might stink, but the vast, vast majority of attendees have proper hygiene or at least wear deodorant. No need for the performative threads.

Oh no don't suggest speed stick. For sum people that brand deodorant just makes them stink more when they don't shower good enough or when they cooked in the sun for 2+ hours
