Question bag policy
hey everyone. i had a quick question about bag size. i really wanted to take my itabag of himmel to anime expo but its about 2 inches bigger than the bag policy they have on their site. are they harsh when it comes to bag sizing? should i take it with me and risk it or should i find a bag that’s a little smaller and fits their policy?
here’s a photo of what it looks like on the inside and outside. thanks in advance for your help!

Honestly, I take a pretty big backpack because I’m the family mule at AX. And I have seen people with carry on luggage at AX because they use it as a seat and merch storage.

good to know! i’m also the mule so i’ll be carrying some of my families stuff in here(not too much though since it’s mostly just for decoration). i wanted to take a decently sized bag but noticed this one was a little bigger than their policy so i got worried😭

Honestly, I didn't even know they had a policy. But it has been fine for the last couple of years. lol

What a coincidence! I also wanted to bring my Himmel ita bag (black) but I’ve never been to expo before, so I’m nervous lol. I’m going to hope that someone gives us insight 🥹💕🫶🏾

You didn't include a banana for scale, so it's hard to judge the exact size of the bag. But I think you'll be ok. I see plenty of people carting around huge bags.
Just be aware that you might under some circumstances be asked for a bag search. I THINK (someone please correct me if I'm wrong) that if you pass through their scanners without setting them off, then they'll just let you go, but if you get flagged, then they'll ask for a bag search.

As long as you don't have any metal on you that sets the metal detectors off, you are fine. I brought my delicious dungeon ita bag, that has quite a bit of pins to hold my charms and it passed the metal detectors with no issues.
My bag size is like 17 inches tall if that helps.

that’s good to know! i have similar items so i hope it won’t be a problem. thank you for the help!

No problem. If it also helps, besides the ita bag, my yeti bottle thats insulated also passed the metal detectors no problem. Stay hydrated since it's super hot.

My bag has so many pins (84 1inch pins) that it actually does set off their metal detectors, even then they always just laugh, quick search my bag, then let me through. So everyone should feel confident bringing any ita bags, as long as its not obviously dangerous in some way.

haha i will be aware of that next time but it’s about 16in in length, 12in in height and 4in wide. i wont be carrying much and theres only metal from the pins and badges. thank you for your help though! i’ll beware of what i put in it

Plenty of people take ita bags like this, I take a backpack ita bag never had issues. I’ve seen people with suitcases you’ll be fine.

I have a bigger bag than that, with so many pins that it sets off their metal detectors. They never give me any problem about it.

They are not very strict with the bag policy inside the expo. Some of the freebie bags from booths are even bigger than the policy allows.
The only place I can think of is maybe the Novo. But for that venue, if you do have an oversized bag or item, they have a bag check in where you can pick up your item after the panel. From your image though, your bag should still be fine.

I don't think they're that harsh on bag size from my experience. Never seen anyone denied for the size of their bag in all my time going.
Also HIMmel is the GOAT. I approve of the messaging
