Was very anxious last episode that it would be a rushed ending. It wasn't a perfect ending but it was a good ending nonetheless.

I love how the hostage situation was basically a red herring, but still ended up having a purpose and leading to an actual resolution. Made a lot more sense than some kind of major standoff. Kind of a perfect melodrama, I felt completely absorbed in the characters the entire time.

I'm curious, I've seen Angel Beats and while I really didn't like it overall I don't remember anything bad about the ending or it was at least consistent with the quality of the show.

(Sorry for being 4 months late, but I just discovered and binged this show today)

Iirc, Angel Beats! was supposed to be 24 episodes, but as they were finishing episode 6 they were contacted by the TV station and informed that the station had double booked their slot in the second cour. So the staff had to cram 18 episodes of plot into the remaining 6.

I just did some googling and I couldn't find any concrete sources either. It made so much sense that I just assumed it was true when I heard it.

I wonder if the VN from a few years ago gave it proper pacing. I should check that out at some point.

Haha nah man I am with you. It makes so much sense to believe that ending was rushed because they hat less episodes than they thought. Part of me still wants to believe it.

I'm pretty sure Gangsta will forever hold the title of being the most "Fuck You Read the Manga" ending ever. IIRC every major character was left on a pretty nasty cliffhanger in that finale!

I'm not familiar with Gangsta, but the final scene of the Medaka Box anime is pretty hard to top in terms of "fuck you, read the manga". This is how Medaka Box Abnormal ends (spoilers, obviously).
