The red flowers in the beginning always brings me back to the first ending of Inuyasha.

Those red flowers are Japanese spider lilies, and represent death (and probably some more stuff, I don't know a whole lot). You see them a lot in Japanese stories about war and/or undead (see: Dororo, Tokyo Ghoul).
