Damn. I'm beginning to think a MAL fuck up is more and more likely...

But then again I theorized about what could be the last 3 episodes so much (Setsu stuff) that I convinced myself it can't end there!

Setsu did keep saying their silver key was laser focused on Kukrushka! And we never really did learn what was up with her, other than Yuri's deduction that "Kukrushka = Manaan."

If that's true, it opens the question "Who transferred her into Kuku and why?" SQ is supposed to be Manaan's new body, and SQ warned Yuri that he has probably met SQ!Manaan on a number of his loops.

I can already think of at least one where we see SQ menacing Reman: that had to be SQ!Manaan.

However, 'Kukrushka' is basically nonexistent in these timelines. The model that can move on it's own was destroyed, and this was a backup shell that Manaan took advantage of when she failed to possess SQ, right? In other loops we confirm that there is a Kukrushka 'doll' in Jonas's storage that is inoperable.

So whenever we see Kukrusha in a loop, that's Manaan possessing that shell and SQ is SQ. If Kukrushka is missing... SQ is probably Manaan? Although I suppose there could be loops where Manaan is just missing, full stop, as she neither possessed SQ nor Kukrushka.

And what the frell was up with SQ!Manaan calling Reman "daddy?"

There has got to be more. Especially an explanation behind Manaan's yandere freak outs. Even Setsu saw at least a few of those, and noted Reman was always involved... but why?

Too many why's here, especially since Yuriko seemed to be aware of the whole Manaan situation.

I have no idea how any of that would fit in, but this benign epilogue of "Manaan" just slipping away to Otome's planet before disappearing is... deeply unsatisfying.

We have to have more episodes! Especially to find that happy ending with Yuri and Setsu!

We don't even know what Gnosia *ARE* at this stage or how they infect others. No one ever gets infected *after* the loops so how the heck does that work? Why can't the Gnosia on the ship make more Gnosia but the Gnosia in the universe can? Then there's the god "Gnosis" stuff.

It's good to leave a mystery with some mystery but it really feels like basic lore there.

Exactly. So much interesting lore left unresolved. For me the cyberization of consciousness which led to Gnos and the Gnosia is a far more intriguing than the loops themselves. This show set itself up to have some really unique philosophical discussions on the nature of consciousness, but instead focused on nonsense time looping that never makes sense no matter what piece of media it is featured in.
