I think it's absolutely hilarious that to us, the viewer, Racio was the arrogant asshole who gets voted out the first day but in universe (if they survive the trip) they go home and start a revolution. I can only assume they do it out of sheer distaste at being told what to do by the authoritarian regime as well.
And also Remnan?? I guess he could be so grateful that Racio took him in that he'd join the revolution but to then be a pivotal part of it is crazy. I wonder if in worlds where Racio survives but Remnan doesn't, whether the revolution still manages to succeed.
