Although she was somewhat an Otaku too (though a military history Otaku specifically), she is the one who would be the least familiar with chuunibyou tropes, so it tracks.

Also Shadow doing so much outrageous shit just because he felt like it is the furthest thing from her hyperrational worldview, complicating her chances of understanding him even further.
