I didn't realize Toshio and Hitomi have been a couple for so long, they don't even give me the impression that they're a couple even though I figured they are. On one hand I feel there'd be a lot of drama if Toshio finds out, but I also think it'd get resolved quicker than expected.

Man these translations are so jarring when I can hear the Japanese say something else. It's not even localizing because there was one point where Ai goes "Nani?" and it gets translated into a sentence rather than simply "What?".

I think it's because Hitomi is kind of emotionally closed off to a degree so she acts less lovey-dovey than Toshio does. It's not that she doesn't love Toshio but also the more she lets him in, the more liable he is to find out the truth. Even moreso now that he's a police detective bent on capturing her and her sisters.

But they way she still cheered him on to become a detective even knowing they were doomed to be on opposite sides of the law is kind of sad.

Nothing to do with him finding out the truth, Both are very shy, she is not emotionally closed off, strange as it may sound she is very naive. He is very clumsy when getting close to her. The reason I won't say but I doubt they will deal with it in this series.
Hitomi is very patient with his clumsiness and very jealous type. Rui for example is very outgoing and uses her sex appeal. Something Hitomi doesn't.
She becomes confident and outgoing when she becomes the cat, but that is not her true self.
