So after Umi faded out of existence and could no longer be with her parents, her memories and desire manifested into Nanami, and now Nanami is dedicated to make Shiroha happy after the lost of her parents. What an ironic yet heartfelt twist of fate.

Which might also be important if the trauma/grief is what fueled Shiroha's powers that caused a lot of their problems.
