Guild master is like "we must keep Ryo a secret so the nobles dont want his power and piss him off with their entitlement" then goes around asking Ryo to escort merchants to another city, I can already predict he is going to impress them and its probably going to reach the ears of the king or something like that. If he was really into keeping Ryo a secret he should have asked him to kill a big monster or something he can do alone without making Ryo getting noticed.
