It was so unnecessary which is what makes it funny. Ryo could have just picked this small girl up and ran with her to the dungeon. Instead he flexes for no reason and makes an ice cart with spinning ice wheels.

Well he is a mostly dense Japanese anime protagonist. The thought of putting his hands on a cute young girl would probably make him pass out in terror and embarrassment.
