This episode was just full of easter eggs from the VN but happening in Lewd Land instead. The Ikuko scene in particular. I wonder if they'll circle back a bit on Jun's definition of virginity since the VN made it abundantly clear that [Nukitashi spoilers] He's still a virgin no matter how many people he fucks because he hasn't cum from the SOUL yet. making this encounter not ideal but not the end of the world.

Also I can't help but laugh at that line of dudes wanting to fuck Hamedori knowing what happens to Hamedori in the VN.

A bit disappointed by the FS newb squad though since the VN makes them out to be though not the best of the bunch, still formidable. Here they're straight up stromtrooper level of bad at aiming.

So instead of Jun fucking Ikuko until she passes out, she just gets rammed by a truck instead, causing the same effect.

This has been way better than the VN so far. even though they chose to adapt the worst route for the search for fumino, they did a great job of making it exciting.

Well one plot point down now 2 to go in 6 episodes!

Maybe that's why they choose Nanase as the main heroine here as that route sucks so might as well make it better. Kinda a shame the Touka scenes aren't as engaging.

I feel like Nanase was chosen because it's the "easiest" heroine to adapt quickly. The other 2 just exist

like Hitori route is pornography, and the whole reason for its existence is "well you didn't find the other 2 attractive let's make porn"

and Himari route is action packed yes but Himari is a loli.

It seems like we're going for HImari's plot with Nanase as the main girl.

Of the 3 main route heroines I feel like Nanase's also the easiest to adapt since she clearly has the highest chemistry with Jun of the 3 and the least amount of things they need to adapt to make that work. That [Nanase route] childhood friend buff helps with that a lot. So her character is already mostly developed compared to the other 2.

Compare that to say the Misaki route where they were just [Misaki route] two awkward dorks that were just horny enough for each other to hook up or the Hinami route where [Hinami route] Rei is functionally a tritagonist and ends up in kind of a throuple with Hinami and Jun. There's either too little or too much stuff they need to adapt in order to make the routes work with the other heroines.

[himari route]TBH if they were adapting Himari route the solution would be to just ignore Himari's part and have it be Rei route and himari just exists in it

[Hinami route] even reading her route in the VN I always felt that it should have just been Rei's route instead. Those two have much more of a thing going on and Hinami spends the entirety of her own route just being moral support in the background.

Might just be me, but I didn't get that feeling when playing the Hinami route. Each route (except Fumino) expands the backstory, motives, and personalities of the chosen heroine and their SS counterpart (e.g. Nanami and Touka, Misaki and Ikuko, Hinami and Rei). While Rei is more involved in the heroine's route than her SS companions, it serves to highlight Hinami's traits and themes of her route.

I found that while both Rei and Jun have been supported by Hinami, Rei's scenes with Jun and the subsequent character drama were more long the lines of what one would usually expect from a VN heroine's route. That, and [VN] compared to Touka and Ikuko who took on more of a rival role to Jun (though he warms up to the latter later on) , Rei is unique in that he has a more amicable relationship with her and a good portion of the route is dedicated to his conflicting feelings about being a double agent and his attempts to reconcile with Rei when he betrays her

Admitedly, I am biased here as I also just really like Rei.

Haha, dw I also really like Rei. The Rei and Hinami duo is peak imo. Anyways, I see where you're coming from and you're pretty much right, especially in regard to the inner conflict you'd expect to see from a main heroine being in a secondary heroine. Unlike the other routes, you could argue that the Hinami route is not solely focused about Hinami, but I also think it's not really a true Rei route either due to the significant presence of Hinami. After a bit of thinking, I'd say it's basically a "Hinami & Rei" route, especially considering the very last scene/section of the route.

This has been way better than the VN so far.

Was wanting to get into the VN because of how much I liked this adaptation. Would you still say it's worth reading? (I'm no stranger to long form/multi-route VNs, just curious)

From now onwards we're kinda into the unknown, since they could basically adapt anything they want and/or just make up new stuff like this episode.

[VN] I'm wondering if we're doing the "give Fumino to Sakimori" plot straight or if they're gonna refuse like in the Hinami and Misaki routes. There's a shot in the Blu-ray trailer of her in the yakuza hideout which makes no sense cus we completely skipped that entire plotline. Also now that Hinami is very clearly a rebel, are we gonna see Rei's reaction next episode or are they gonna make an excuse as to why she doesn't know yet so we can have drama later.

With the way all the events have been changed around I'm personally hoping they'll surprise us with an entirely original ending, but I still kinda would like to see [True Route] the three-way brawl between Jun, Hitoura, and Sakimori

yeah I know he gets raped in the VN, at this point he got raped also by the SHO girl, but they are pretty clearly not following most of common route. Heck they had Misaki join at the same time as Fumino when in the VN it was a major plot point to hunt for Fumino.
