I didn’t think this episode would hit me so hard in the feels. Kase might have been a stone cold killer who lied about pretty much every facet of his life, but he really loved his wife. I think that part of him was genuine. Even assassins fall in love I guess.

Something to take solace in is that the two assassinations we see him commit are against relatively heinous people (a serial blackmailer and an exploitative drug dealer). Though his analysis when running into Ogata shows that he will kill in self-preservation, it seems like he prioritizes jobs that eliminate dangerous people. Perhaps he viewed it as his own approximation of morality.
