Not gonna lie, I was expecting this would be a CGDCT version of High Score Girl since there's four main girls in the OP. I did not expect this would be just straight up a romcom set in an arcade between a customer and one of the employees.
I do find it interesting that Lily purely speaks in English. Amaki Sally did a good job, but I wonder if they'll keep this up the entire season. We did get a scene where Lily speaks in Japanese, but that was just in Renji's imagination. She's still a student in Japan, so surely we'll eventually see her learn the language too.
I am surprised at the early confession and the immediate rejection. I didn't think we'd see that here but I guess because of the language and cultural barriers, the misunderstandings here make much more sense.
Not gonna lie, I'm not sure if I'll stick with this one, but I'll at least give it a few episodes and see where it goes from here.
