I love how the second part's humor relies on how the 10x speed spell works in a surprisingly realistic way!

I was wondering what would happen when Kanshi returned to normal if he already adapted to the 10x speed and the ending didn't disappoint LOL!

Also shows you why solitary confinement is a form of mental torture.

Imagine not being able to speak to anyone else for a month or do anything besides from eat and sleep, a lot of folks would go crazy after few days.

Imagine not being able to speak to anyone else for a month or do anything besides from eat and sleep, a lot of folks would go crazy after few days.

We pretty much saw that happen during the Pandemic.

Some folks adapted, some did not, and some did not have to.

Although speaking as someone who....has spent a good chunk of their lifetime and most of their day to day life totally alone not talking to anyone at all, one benefit of it is that you develop a REALLY good imagination.

Art kind of becomes your escape and the world outside becomes all the more wonderful because you really have time to engage with it and to appreciate it.

I believe one of the FFXIV writers (Natsuko Ishikawa) said that sometimes she likes to just walk outside and spend time staring at a blue sky because no one ever really ponders that sort of stuff and it can be fairly relaxing.

So that's got me wondering if this was a way for the writers to do to Kan what the Star Trek Prodigy writers did to Rok in her episode "Time Amok" that had...similar...temporal shenanigans?

It's a vector for change for both of their characters.

Did you notice how at the end that Kan had learned to slow down a bit and seemed to be a bit more emotionally mature?

That month all by himself, for the most part, probably taught him a few things just like it did with Rok and what we're going to be seeing in future episodes is a VERY changed and brand new version of him.

It's also similar to what happens in the Flash comics AND in the live action show whenever a new speedster would show up.

They'd rub Barry the wrong way, cause some sort of issue on their own, wind up learning from it, and then grow in some cool way in the next couple of issues/episodes.

So I feel like we're going to be seeing some interesting developments with Kan in the near future.

But just like with Nico's magic, there's no such thing as a free lunch, and that solitary confinement is going to come with a catch because it had to have done a bit of damage to Kan before Moi, Keigo, and Nico sorted it all out.

So as much as we'll see some improvement with him, there's going to be an "Oh...right" that kicks in, and I'm guessing that....maybe he'll become more attached to them than he was before and the whole super social aspect of his crow/tengu thing won't just be for show or a surface level thing.

Remember, we got the whole Otto-man thing before this part of the episode and THAT was just a joke layered on top of another story about the relationship between a husband and wife and then a father and his son.

The parallel from that will of course be Moi/Nico and then Moi/Kan.

Kan will probably be the catalyst for Moi and Nico getting a bit more serious and will be the one who helps to...keep the fires burning in a way.

He'll probably also tell Moi at some point that he does look up to him as a hero in a way, kind of like how Wally looks up to Barry in the comics, and how that son looked up to his father.

Combined together, both of these then imply that Kan is going to be the one to help Moi become the hero that everyone knew he could be...and that Nico needed him to be.

Because right now Moi is acting a bit like Simba and he's going to need a bit of a shove, when the time is right, to become Nico's (Nala's) Ogre King.

But that was ONLY possible after Kan had himself gone through a similar transformation, first by seeing an example of what it means to be a hero with the Otto-man stuff and second by going through a hyperbolic time chamber-esque period of accelerated induced introspection and practice.

Now he knows how to take things slower, how to be more aware of those around him, and how the connections between everyone work to affect everyone else, including himself.

So this feels like a bit of a trivial episode but there's some deeper stuff buried between the lines if you...slow down...and look for it.

It's all a bit like a sword being forged....

.....or a bird learning how to fly....and we all know that...

....ducks fly together.

So being alone isn't always a bad thing in the short term, just in the long term when you can't find anyone to...

....flock...with.

:D

That month all by himself, for the most part, probably taught him a few things just like it did with Rok and what we're going to be seeing in future episodes is a VERY changed and brand new version of him.

I guarantee you that Kan has learned absolutely nothing from this experience. That would not be funny.
