Some JP fans are starting to suspect that the Omega Psycommu may, in fact, be similar to the n_i_t_r_o system. (TLDR, the n_i_t_r_o system temporarily rewires an Oldtype's brain into a Newtype's - but comes with the caveat that anyone using it becomes more violent and aggressive.)

I think it has to do with how the psycommu reacts to Machu and Nyaan's mentalities way moreso than any adverse effects the system had, unlike nitro.

X noticed Machu attends a high-class girls' school - this is a hint that she's never really struggled for much in life and is sort of a rebel without a cause, which is why her piloting style is somewhat carefree and as if she's out on an amusement park. She's a bright ball of light and that gets amplified by the psycommu.

On the other hand, Nyaan is clearly in a daily fight to survive, enduring abuse both physical and otherwise and taking any job she can to just live to see the next day. She's bitter, frustrated and vengeful. And when all that boils over - when she's tired of taking it and decides it's time to start hitting back -, the psycommu responds to her. There's no trace of the grace Machu and Shuji had before - under Nyaan's control, the GQuuuuuuX is a killing machine, and she doesn't even think straight while piloting it - she still has one of Shuji's beam sabers long after the battle ends. I think the system did nothing to her - it just enabled her deepest-rooted rage to surface and gave her a way to take it all out on someone.

XC did nothing to Riddhe other than amplify what he already was thinking. He was just in ultra mega denial and the increased sensitivity of XC essentially brute forced every single stage of grief through him at once. The rest is history.

The reason why so many psycommu users go insane is because the equipment drastically amplifies your thoughts. It helps with controlling funnels and the machine itself, but if you're not mentally stable when piloting, those intrusive thoughts will be amplified too, causing you more distress, which causes that distress to be amplified more, the cycle goes on. You can guess a few examples of that. It gets way worse in Cyber-Newtypes because they're already more prone to go ape shit because having a mind-reading organ forcibly implanted into your brain that you have no control over is extremely stressful.

I presume Nyaan was backed into a corner by Gaia and Ortega, snapped, and that was the trigger for her latent Newtype brainwaves to get picked up by the Omega-Psycommu. Now that she's no longer suppressing her trauma and urges, it just keeps feeding onto itself and making her more violent until she's had enough. I guess Shuji being there sort of tempered her a bit because these sorts of psycommu rampage episodes usually end with way more death and destruction than two Rick Doms.

So in other words, your average psycommu-induced rampage; just with Shuuji being able to react faster and stop things before it gets out of hand because this time they're on the same side.
