Why is everyone saying this will be a tear jerker? So far it was a mediocre written childhood catch-up story with a pretty lame premise and odd drama.

Have... have you not heard of Studio Key before? Their stories are the gold standard for tearjerkers. Clannad gets recommended daily for example.

Thanks for the reply. I am actually not familiar with studio key and never seen any of their works. Barely even heard of the few I recognize by name. Will add Clannad to my watch later. Edit: Only started watching anime very active after 2018

Fair, I'm sorry if I sounded rude. But yeah, Key is a very beloved visual novel studio. In fairness, not all of their anime adaptations are good, but pretty much all of their source VNs are.

No worries, I expected to get some downvotes for my cross phrasing, though it's simply how I honestly felt after watching the anime so far. It was enjoyable, but felt contrived and I wasn't sure when I start getting invested into these characters from people putting up expectations
