They held hands, kissed and are childhood friends. Even though she got introduced last (so far), she is the best girl, and idk how any of the other girls can top it.

I don’t care if the season ends next week, I am already mighty satisfied with this anime.

Forgot about seeing her naked too!

I'm beginning to think the best girl quest may have been a bit of a misdirection, and we may not see too much of the others (to focus on Kamome, the adventure, and the past...)

Anime-wise it may feel strange (especially given it had harem vibes early on), but it does feel somewhat VN like I think! (Meaning, I could see something like that happening in a VN).

Being in a VN anime is so weird. Getting all the “routes” introduced only to follow one of them.

Yeah they'll likely try and devote a few episodes to each heroine, we've still got like 21 more episodes to go after all.

It's what now? Like don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying this, I'm just surprised we're getting 26 episodes right off the bat.

Little Busters, Angel Beats, etc.-- it would've been a huge blunder not to give a Key VN anime adaptation 26 episodes off the bat IMHO

If they do it similarly to Clannad (And if the VN's structure is similar enough to Clannad's) they can probably go as far as Hairi actually being in a relationship with any of them. It'll be like... 80% of each of the others. Off the top of my head, Clannad's adaptation cut off one date from a route, one kiss from another, and... well, had to shunt two entire routes into alternate universes since the routes don't make sense without dating actually happening xD

So maybe we won't get final kisses or the epilogues of some of the heroines here, but I suspect we'll get most of all the main girls' routes by the end of this adaptation.

From my past experience with Key VNs, Kamome isn't the only 1, she's just the 1st girl that Hairi-kun has met in the past. We know he used to be on the island before and that he's forgotten tons of stuff about his boyhood past. He's probably gotten involved with each of the individuals on the island in the past but just forgotten about it (and won't remember until he embarks on that person's 'route').

Usually, the storyline won't make complete sense if it makes everybody's route be an accurate depiction of Hairi's past (only a POSSIBILITY of that Taka-kun in the past actually growing up to become Hairi-kun in the present should be implied, in case someone prefer's Shiroha over Kamome in the VN, for example).

The fact that Hairi has 'forgotten' about it and refuses to acknowledge that he remembers Taka's past to Kamome in the present keeps things nicely ambiguous. It also opens to the door for other routes to be possible to have occurred in the same time frame as the summer camp Taka attended where he met Kamome 10 years ago.

Or... something completely different could've happened 10 years ago with Shiroha. Or with the Blonde girl with the pigtails. Or with the short haired girl with the water gun. Or the weird girl with the pink alien pet. Generally speaking, it seems like the island is a place where causality and time can be manipulated depending on the route you select, and the heroine Hairi decides he likes the best.

As is usual for Key VNs... the True Route only opens up after he's seen all the possibilities for what his 'past' that he forgot could've been and makes the ultimate decision that's best for the past/present/future Hairi on what is the real truth.

I'm betting Shiroha is the True Route, the fact that she's so antisocial and specifically didn't want to join in with him and Kamome's treasure hunt (but still mentioned that it seemed 'fun') seems like a clue. Also I'm betting her grandpa and Hairi's dead grandma have some history and it will be revealed once we are shown the past with little Taka-kun and little Shiroha (probably they made a childhood promise to each other to become the fastest swimmers alive, if I had to take a wild anime-only guess).
