For some reason I thought she was about to name their team "The Summer Pockets"
I wasn't too sure what happened there...
Looked like she tripped, but then with her leg problems it seems to be her leg that gave up, though it may be more than that...
Before the 'reveal' about the leg, I thought she might have had heart problems...
And to be fair, the leg reveal doesn't really change that; She may struggle with her legs because her heart's not pumping enough, something like that.
When he turned around I expected to see Kamome laying on the ground (having fainted), but not seeing her at all, that's scary too...
All this time I thought one of the big mysteries would be 'What's in the case?' but it seems the case itself was the mystery...
But I suppose it could be both; There might be something inside, on top of it being her crutch (They lost it now, but they may find it again, carried by the current).
People drastically underestimate how dangerous these are!
(You'd think they'd learn, now that a certain monarch got killed by one of these!)
Early on I thought she was trying to get him to remember their past together... But assuming she's genuine, then SHE doesn't remember it? (I mean, the "him" part)?
So SHE'S the one who's on a mission to remember things, then?
Yeah... The way things are going, I don't think she's ever meeting her friends again... Or not in this world anyway...
Been floating theories about things like that for a while, and yeah... I think that's one more hint.
So new theory (or 'almost confirmed' theory): Kamome's dead... And her spirit lingers, until something/someone helps her "move on" to her new (after)life?
She doesn't have a lot of good summer memories, that's why this one is so important?
Could also be because it's the one she died in...
Made me think of another VN I played, about a boy and a girl who run from an hospital... I wonder if that's something like that; She was dying, and wanted to make one last memory before she died, so she just ran, made a group of friends, and went on her little adventure, in which she died...
But before that happened, they all promised to see each other 10 years later, and THAT is why she lingered around, waiting for them to come back.
I'd say I'm very confident in this theory (or something similar), but the question is... Why aren't the other ones coming? Sure, realistically "it's just a kid promise" so maybe they forgot about it or didn't care, etc.. But thematically I'm not sure that works. So there may be more to this! Or maybe the pirate ship will be one more clue to get to their objective (In previous episode I did think "The ship was a mean to an end, not the end itself")
There's an interesting parallel between them,
with her struggling to walk, and him struggling to swim... She wants to walk alone for now, but I imagine he WILL have to help her before long.
If things get bad, he might even have to carry her, but (even as a huge piggyback/princess carry enthusiast) I don't think it'll be the 'happy kind, of carry'... Could be more the "Carrying a frail/dying girl who's too sick to walk" kind of carry.
Them finding the pirate ship should be the fun hype moment, but there's a bit too much doom&gloom lingering around, that I don't think things are headed toward happy fun times!
