To confirm does the hard boiled gimmick come from Señor Pink from One Piece or was it a character gimmick that existed in anime beforehand? and if so what other characters have this gimmick?

I love the gimmick and Boiled is already my favorite character in this show so I am very curious about this.

I think it's just a general parody of the sort of Clint Eastwood-esc characters. The "Ken Takakura" types.
