I was way way more excited for the Ranma remake than for Daima. And the remake has delivered and then some.
After DB Super, all I was expecting from Daima was more power scaling and new bubblegum-colored transformations to fill the shelves of Akihabara’s figurine shops.
But, now, turning what I thought was an overproduced flashback to the Majin Buu arc into essential material, plus fights where every attack matters, superb choreography.humor, unpredictability, good camera work; it all adds up to the best it's been since OG Dragonball.
So with Ranma 1/2 doing everything right and more; I am happy to concede Daima IS the biggest surprise of the season.
