Neglects to mention that they are against rewilding large predators because "they reduce the number of ungulates which in turn creates competition against game hunters." They make it sound like it's an act of begrudging duty of stewardship on the part of the hunters, and not a sadistic activity that they live for and are willing to travel as a far as central Asia and pay sometimes as much as $100k to kill an endangered animal to mount on their wall.
Interesting. As someone who works in conservation and on small community farms, this is not my experience. There are lots of vegans and vegan-curious people among us, higher in proportion than other fields. At the nonprofit land trust I work for, there have been times where every single person on the team was vegan or vegetarian. Extremely strict prohibitions against all hunting or resource extraction in the vast majority of places out here too. Every single step we take on the ground is gentle beyond measure.
