Review Review on the Redmi Pad 2 9.7

Specs: 4 GB Ram, 64 GB Rom with expandable SD card storage, Snapdragon 6s gen 2 = G99 or SD680 according to Google.

Side-by-side comparison with Tab A9 to get a general idea about its size.

Pros:

  • 120Hz with 2k Res Screen, perfect for readers, Widevine L1.
  • 9.7" Feels perfect enough, avg between the 11+ and 8.7 tabs. (Great Personality) Portable enough to be used with one hand while in bed or when on the move.
  • Cheap asf, cheaper than the A11, bought mine for 90usd 5,500php on sale with vouchers
  • Expandable Storage with a Micro SD
  • Includes a charging brick and cable in box

Cons:

  • 4 GB RAM is the limiting factor here. At first i thought that 4gb ram wont be an issue since I used a Tab A9 with the same RAM and almost the same specs, but UI really matters when it comes to optimizing 4 GB RAM. One UI has better optimization and comes with little to no bloatware, a clean stock UI unlike HYPEROS. Out of the box, it was filled with bloatware from both Xiaomi and Google. The worst part of it is that you can't disable a lot of the Google/Xiaomi apps without using a debloater tool.
  • This tablet is good for 1 to 2 years IMO, replace it once you get another cheaper deal or the latest new release.

In Between:

  • The Dual Speakers are decent, nothing notable tbh
  • You can game on the lowest settings for old MMOs.
  • Emulation works up to 2D PS2 Games.
  • Drawing and editing is fine, it will lag at times when loading an existing project on Canva/ Adobe Express with plenty of elements.
  • 9.7" may not be good for those who want a tablet to replace their laptops.

Great tablet overall, considering the price for it. Perfect for students on a budget or peeps who just want to try a tablet before investing in a high-end one. It's more of a companion tablet if you already use a flagship/ upper mid-range phone and just want to offload apps and files, since most phones now don't have expandable SD Card Slots.

I received mine yesterday. The first downside I encountered, if you use a third-party launcher, you can’t use the swipe gestures feature. I’ll use it for reading books. I’m researching methods for installing GSI ROMs.

In terms of customization, this tablet kinda sucks tbh. Simple widgets cant be adjusted as freely compared to samsung. It looks an Apple Ipad, and tries to be one withs its UI

Oh, if its 8/128 then A11 is far more worth it good UI with 7 major android upgrades but from what ive seen its atleast 2.5x more expensive, and to what I know in my country that's a rare find, Samsung Authorized Selling Accounts dont even sell them on their own page and Store fronts only have 4/64. Be skeptical before buying online.

Poco Pad C1 was just unveiled with 6GB RAM variant, the rest specs the same with this tablet. You might consider it as well.

Lol I have the same model, still works great, the only reason I changed it is because the USB c in it is not fully implemented and my oscilloscop didn't work with it how I wanted, but it will live on for years to come, I gave it to my mother to use it :)) but honestly the Pad 7 beats it in every way possible and having a keyboard is a huge + when it comes to work .

Did you run some benchmarks? Like how much different is this processor compared to the redmi pad 2 11"

The G100 Ultra is far more better especially if you get a 6 or 8gb ram. Emulation though, the Snap Dragon performs better. I dont own a Redmi Pad 2 but i tried a phone with G100 proc

Thats true, but hey, im the type of guy that likes to change my tech every now and then, i like exploring tech. This tab is just a companion device either way
