Engine light help
So I changed the exhaust in November and after +3.000km or so (a couple of weeks ago) the engine light showed up. The bike runs perfectly and everything works except the launch control system.
I have some friends that the engine light made the bike go in a “protection mode”. The can’t use the cruise control, change modes, quick shifter etc…
My question here is, does anyone know how to tweak the engine light without ecu tune or buying an emulator?

We definitely need the exact fault code to give you proper advice. A quick OBD2 scan (need Yamaha 4 pin adapter) will tell us that.
Without it I can only give you a “best guess” based off the CP3 platform and Euro5 information.
It is most likely an O2 sensor fault.
(For your R9 unless you are stating protection/limp mode has activated on your bike—protection/limp mode is a sign of a far greater issue)
Without an ECU flash:
You can get an O2 sensor eliminator kit (Euro5 specific—I’m American and don’t know specific models to recommend for the EU)
Or, you could clear the fault code with the ODB scanner and the light will go away until the ECU runs through diagnostics again (temp fix).
