Stick recommendations for high schoolers on defense

I've been playing lacrosse for ~4 years using different sticks and I'm currently looking for something new. I play club and school and am going to likely play for 3 more years. Does anyone have good recommendations for a defender thats durable and no more than $250?

First, I’d recommend trying out some of your friends sticks and seeing what you like. For example, a lot of people like the Gait sticks, but I personally don’t.

A specific recommendation though, I really like the Maverick Ascent which you can currently get for $175. I coach girls and one of our defenders uses the stick and I personally really like it too.

Ill definitely look into that one! Ive never seen anyone use a Maverick stick so its new to me

The only stick that’s made for defense that can actually have a tangible benefit for you is the Gait Air D.

Compete stick is 300, factory strung head is $230. If you like that shaft you have it’s a great head in your range. Is it going to do the work for you? No. Can it be great for you if you want it to? God yes
