Question Places hiring

Can people list any places they’ve seen hiring? In and around Wexford town. Seems impossible even with experience

Even petstop wanted 1 year retail experience.. it’s insanity, no wonder people find it so hard to find jobs. How on earth do you start out!?

I had nearly 4 years of working in another pet shop and applied there when they first opened and never got anything back from them which was kinda crazy

I had a year in experience at a pet shop and ten in experience pet sitting with pet first aid and dog and cat nutrition qualifications, and still never heard back. Unfortunately in small towns like this it's who you know half the time and the rest of the time they want students or young inexperienced workers.

There are certain jobs out there that it’s not what you know, it’s who you know. This is far more important when starting out. Best way to get a job is to literally ask people you know if they know anyone willing to take you on. Check with both family and friends. It’s hard to stand out from the crowd, but you don’t have to stand out if someone puts in a good word.

It depends on where? If you want a hospitality job it's best to drop in with your CV, which coming up to Summer, most places would be looking for staff. If it's any office job look on the website for vacancies, or just email their info or their reception email with your CV.

"Places hiring " is very broad. I mean, what fields are you looking for. Lets say its town and hospitality for arguments sake. Go into the supermarkets, hand in cv or ask for application form. Go into small cafes and ask to speak with the manager and hand over CV. No point giving CV to anyone else as they'll bin it.

Outside of the above, the retail park in cloned. Woodies is good place to start. Outside of that go out to the retail hub in drinagh and research the businesses on Google maps, and contact them via email directly and forward your CV.

Outside of that go to the car dealership garages. Again ask for owner and hand CV.

They might not be advertising hiring but you just need one person to admire your ambition to work and you'll get something.
