Considering WCU

Hello! My daughter is considering attending WCU in the fall. On paper the school looks great and more importantly they offer the exact program she is looking for. I’m am a little worried about her feeling secluded, we live in a large city in Florida and not sure how she’ll acclimate to a small town feel. We are going to see the campus this weekend but any feedback both good and bad would be appreciated.

Hi, native Floridian (grew up by UCF) who went to WCU.

I absolutely loved my time at Western. The shift from living by Orlando into a small rural mountain town took adjusting, but Cullowhee & Sylva are wonderful. The biggest adjustment for me was the weather, it definitely gets cold!

The campus offers so many activities, plus what's offered in Sylva itself. I found it a lot less overstimulating than living down here.

If you guys have any questions I would be more than happy to help :)
