This is the Weekly Thread! Please post here.

------Foreword-----

It is important that users have a Post in which to comment and share their questions and experiences. It is also important to me as a moderator so that I can track the development, propagation or disappearance of issues related to Paid/Processing/Posting; which currently is very very was* difficult because of the volume and number of duplicates, and the lack of information provided by users who do not include their claim type and bank.

I urge you, when posting, to include your bank and your claim type.

I urge you, as much as you can, anticipate delays for weeks with holidays.

Request for separate threads will be entertained, if you can send me a direct message with a good reason that is backed by some sort of evidence.

The most consistently accurate and applicable is in The Archive and The Roadmap

-----Processing/Paid/Posted-----

  • After a Weekly claim is submitted, it first says “Processing-Web ", then¥ “Processing”, then “Paid”, and it takes 48 hours on average to post in an account, if the amount is significant, refer to this post. Related Post
  • The average time between when the payment shows "Paid" and when it appears in a bank account is dependent on the bank.

Weekly claims that are filed by web are generally all processed sometime between Tuesday evening and Wednesday evening. So if you filed a a claim last Wednesday it will probably not be processed until the following Tuesday.

(₩) If you did your weekly claim via the web. Weekly Claim status is "Processing - IVR"? Normal: You filed by phone IVR means Interactive Voice Response

(¥) This happens when the submission moves from "Submitted" to "Processed", within Online Activity

------Known Issues------

3. Appearance of "Waiting Week" on some pre-existing claims

_______(1/9) WA House Minority Leader (R) J.T. Wilcox did not approve the Extension of 20.21; the WA Governor's 10th successive proclamation which waived the waiting week, by sending the Governor a letter the day the extension lapsed Contact him directly at [jt.wilcox@leg.wa.gov](mailto:jt.wilcox@leg.wa.gov). So on Jan 7, ESD Policy Director Dan Zeitlin filed an Emergency Rule, which appears to have no end date. It is believed that due to no rule prohibiting a waiting week between Dec 28-Jan 7, that some pre-existing claims erroneously began to show this. See this post and comments.

Update (1/23) New FAQ from ESD ON Waiting Week

11. (New 1/19) Changing your address/phone number/bank account will likely stop payments, and require an Identity confirmation that may take 6-8 weeks. (Because of a continuation of an Audit) See above in Best Practices for changing eServices notices/letters from Mailed to Electronic. See this post

5. (NEW AS of 1-11) Disappearance of Weekly Claim Prompt Link. As suggested in this post and reply, it is solvable manually by calling the call center. <Will Likely be Updated>. (New 1/25: Additional Info: Details of Resolution call) Another example (2/11) Another example 3/2

  1. After Potential New Claim Filing on 6/12: Issue recurring

------Perspective--------

We are all on government benefits; this is not an employee employer relationship where we always get paid at the exact same time every week; they do not have the same responsibility to pay at a predetermined time and it's unreasonable to hold them to that standard. They will get around to paying us when they get around to paying us, unfortunately. Holding that expectation is a false hope, and being constantly disappointed is not a productive thing.

I thought I’d ask here as to not clutter up the sub feed. I also searched several keywords and didn’t find any info relating to this. A few months ago I received several weeks of back pay. I noticed there are some weeks that are missing the extra 300 LWA payment. Is this something I can call ESD and get squared up on? I’m not sure if this is a common problem or not. Or if they would even be able to help me.

Lwa was honestly a really long time ago, it was the six weeks from August 1st to September...5th. 2020.

I just reviewed the lwa page for ESD and they don't say anything about a deadline. Can you confirm that we're talking about the lwa payments from that date range?

Thank you. I guess that confuses me a little. I’ve been receiving the extra $300 LWA payment for every week I’ve claimed. Before and after those dates. But yes, I looked at the link you provided and that is the program. I didn’t know it was supposed to be limited to those dates as I’ve been getting it al along. I’m on PUA and get 535 per week. 235 from our state and 300 from LWA. There are a few weeks in my summary that are only showing 235 paid.

I got notified to submit an application for new UI last weekend and it said I had until 8/27 to respond to it. In order to be prudent I went ahead and filled it out.

However I also filed my regular weekly claim for PEUC and now my status for this week’s payment says “pending” for the first time ever…normally i submit on Sunday and by Thursday it is paid already, in not in route already. gah stressful waiting on primary income

submit an application for new UI last weekend and it said I had until 8/27 to respond to it. In order to be prudent I went ahead and filled it out.

A Potential New Claim? I have already written quite a lot on this subject in the Roadmap:

Now,

now my status for this week’s payment says “pending”

Ah so let's follow the troubleshooting steps From the Roadmap

...under the eponymous section:

everyone

Without exception who was required to do a potential new claim was also required to undergo an identity verification, which is an adjudication for eligibility for all claims under the claimant, which causes payments to be pending, for which the solution is an escalation, as is clearly explained by this poll and the responses to it, as well as to almost every other post in the Potential New Claim section of the Roadmap:

AmaZing. First of all—thank you.

And yes I got the identification verification thing too.

So now my only/next step is “escalation”? That means call them and get them to do something? If not—who is my local representative for 98006 and how do I get their email?

Might be useful info: In a letter I received afterwards it mentioned the funds I got “from Aug 1 - 13th were approved”

Dude, you got to read the material, this is explained in the FAQ post of that section: please go read the post that has the title "simple explanation"; the two weeks that were stated in the letter are the two weeks in which the potential new claim overlapped with the old claim, it is not defining or describing the duration of your benefit type or claim type. Every other question that derives from this such as what benefit type you will be on and when that will expire is also explained in that post

because I was planning on being approved for the remaining four or so payments we have until Sept 6

Being approved for those weeks under one of the claims, either the new potential new claim or the older one does not have any effect on whether or not you would or would not get payments until September 6th. But you'll need to read the post for that to make sense.

. Is it possible filing my PNC paperwork early has ended up delaying my current payments into “Pending” status?

Yes it will delay any and all payments under any claim types because the PNC always requires an identity verification and while an identity verification adjudication is still in progress no payments can be made to the claimant under any claim type whatsoever. This is why so many posts and replies and FAQ sections so prominently feature the suggestion for an escalation, which was the partial title of the eponymous section I linked earlier in a reply

u/SnooRegrets5440 Aug 19 '21

Understood (sorry I was reading and finding your escalation instructions as you were replying) and thank you again—I would have no idea about any of this if it weren’t for cyber heros like yourself

Lol it's all good, when I say those things I'm not mad, it's not a big deal it's just that some of those posts took hours to write and when people ask me for an ad hoc reply it's so much shittier and they can read almost five times faster than I can write and what I'm writing is so much shittier than what I have written anyway.

u/SoThenIThought_ Admin for WEBA.Law, WA Unemployment Benefits Aug 18 '21 edited Aug 18 '21

Here, I will give you an ad hoc response but really there is an entire post for this that I'll go find and stick here in just a second, you are under a misconception about what LWA is, and FPUC:

Oh. Eh no. Lwa was only those weeks. It was an additional $300 after the original $600 FPUC had ended from the cares act which ran from March 29th through July 25th.

There was no additional $300 from September 5th 2020 until January 2nd 2021 because lwa had ran out because it was only for 6 weeks and the FPUC from the cares act had ran out because it was only 17 weeks in the aforementioned time frame.

The Federal legislation that was passed on December 27th 2020, the continuing assistance Act, refreshed the FPUC benefit type, which allotted an additional $300 per week from January 2nd through March 13th, and then the American rescue plan Act was passed on March 11th added more money to the federal FPUC benefit to extend the additional $300 from March 13th until September 4th. Therefore if you had claims in between September 5th 2020 and January 2nd 2021 they should not have any additional money because there were none

u/GEBULAR Aug 18 '21

Aha! This all makes perfect sense now. That’s why those weeks don’t show LWA payment. Once again, thank you for your help
