This is the Weekly Thread! Please post here.

------Foreword-----

It is important that users have a Post in which to comment and share their questions and experiences. It is also important to me as a moderator so that I can track the development, propagation or disappearance of issues related to Paid/Processing/Posting; which currently is very very was* difficult because of the volume and number of duplicates, and the lack of information provided by users who do not include their claim type and bank.

I urge you, when posting, to include your bank and your claim type.

I urge you, as much as you can, anticipate delays for weeks with holidays.

Request for separate threads will be entertained, if you can send me a direct message with a good reason that is backed by some sort of evidence.

---------

The most consistently accurate and applicable is in The Archive and The Roadmap

-----Weekly Claim Questions------

NEW 4/12: ESD's site for Weekly Claim Questions - Reporting Earnings

NEW 4/12: ESD's site for Weekly PUA claim Questions

NEW 4/12: ESD's site for Restarting your Claim

ESD's site for Waiting Week/ When Will Payments Start

NEW 4/12: What if I didn't Work this Week?

2 jobs? Paid Late? Reporting Complex Earnings

Added 7/5 What if I wasn't AA for 2 days or less last week? WBA gets prorated, no Add'l fact-finding

Use a Password Manager, otherwise you might Lock Your Account and have to contact Technical Support

Added 4/22 Traveling and Claiming: "Able and Available"? Cannot Mark Yes to AA

Added 7/7 Website won't work? Call in the Claim, or do it later - it will stay there for 5 weeks

-----Processing/Paid/Posted-----

  • After a Weekly claim is submitted, it first says “Processing-Web ", then¥ “Processing”, then “Paid”, and it takes 48 hours on average to post in an account, if the amount is significant, refer to this post. Related Post
  • The average time between when the payment shows "Paid" and when it appears in a bank account is dependent on the bank.

Weekly claims that are filed by web are generally all processed sometime between Tuesday evening and Wednesday evening. So if you filed a a claim last Wednesday it will probably not be processed until the following Tuesday.

(₩) If you did your weekly claim via the web. Weekly Claim status is "Processing - IVR"? Normal: You filed by phone IVR means Interactive Voice Response

(¥) This happens when the submission moves from "Submitted" to "Processed", within Online Activity

------Known Issues------

3. Appearance of "Waiting Week" on some pre-existing claims

_______(1/9) WA House Minority Leader (R) J.T. Wilcox did not approve the Extension of 20.21; the WA Governor's 10th successive proclamation which waived the waiting week, by sending the Governor a letter the day the extension lapsed Contact him directly at [jt.wilcox@leg.wa.gov](mailto:jt.wilcox@leg.wa.gov). So on Jan 7, ESD Policy Director Dan Zeitlin filed an Emergency Rule, which appears to have no end date. It is believed that due to no rule prohibiting a waiting week between Dec 28-Jan 7, that some pre-existing claims erroneously began to show this. See this post and comments.

Update (1/23) New FAQ from ESD ON Waiting Week

11. (New 1/19) Changing your address/phone number/bank account will likely stop payments, and require an Identity confirmation that may take 6-8 weeks. (Because of a continuation of an Audit) See above in Best Practices for changing eServices notices/letters from Mailed to Electronic. See this post

5. (NEW AS of 1-11) Disappearance of Weekly Claim Prompt Link. As suggested in this post and reply, it is solvable manually by calling the call center. <Will Likely be Updated>. (New 1/25: Additional Info: Details of Resolution call) Another example (2/11) Another example 3/2

  1. After Potential New Claim Filing on 6/12: Issue recurring

-----Roadmap Sections Expanded Above-----

Weekly Claim Subsection

------Perspective--------

We are all on government benefits; this is not an employee employer relationship where we always get paid at the exact same time every week; they do not have the same responsibility to pay at a predetermined time and it's unreasonable to hold them to that standard. They will get around to paying us when they get around to paying us, unfortunately. Holding that expectation is a false hope, and being constantly disappointed is not a productive thing.

The following entry has been added to every section of the Roadmap:

Added 8/12 The scary but automated Overpayment Suspicion page at the end of every fact-finding, ever, an explanation

Well I didn't feel like making a new thread for this, so this seems as good a place as any to put this.

I'm finally free! Today marked my 5th day at a full-time job I started last week. I decided not to try and file this weeks claim (despite having like 5 job search activities done with the multiple phone calls and interviews I had for my new job), so there should be a nice even transition from unemployment to employed.

I was unemployed for a grand total of 1 year, 4 months, and 20 days. I'll probably stick around quietly until my claim fully lapses (which is what, 3 weeks?).

It's been a pleasure suffering together with you all, at the hands of the ESD. This community has helped me in countless ways from good hard info as well as reassurance from others that I'm not alone in this, to the memes and mutual loathing we all have for the ESD.

until my claim fully lapses (which is what, 3 weeks?).

November 3rd 2021 is the last day ESD can ask for your job search log

You have made some instrumental addition to this community and we appreciate everything you've done

Hi there, it looks like you asked this two times, do you need to totally separate responses or just one in two different places?

Your claim goes processing web because you filed it via the web, and then it goes pending because it's a pua claim and pua claims always do this.

It has to do with the railroad and retirement Act, some legal stuff that's really boring. But it doesn't really matter what the interstitial processing statuses are, because they get paid at the same time.

Filed unemployment about a month ago… stuck in Adjunct so escalated to local legislative rep. They can’t escalate until 10 weeks. Basically said it’s a resourcing issue and governor is at fault… not sure what to believe, but it doesn’t seem like there is any assistance or relief in sight. Feel terrible for ppl who need the money and have to wait 10+ weeks for payments to even begin

so escalated to local legislative rep. They can’t escalate until 10 weeks. Basically said it’s a resourcing issue and governor is at fault

That is baseless and not accurate, find a different rep to do the escalation to, there are at least five for each person from The district finder app/site

Interesting - do you have it written up what’s actually going on? I got the vibe she wasn’t doing anything to help fix the core issues and just wanted to throw the governor under the bus

Who was it? I would like to follow up with the minority or majority leader hold them accountable.

Have you read through any of the governor's press releases? Show me where in there it says what they're describing. Nowhere

Gina.Palermo@leg.wa.gov

I’ll give her credit for responding to my escalation request and calling me when I voiced frustration DT her response.

I just don’t have the background on what’s actually going on… I figured she would be able to tell me what she is actually doing to remediate the issues, but I didn’t get a sense there was any action being taken based on her response

u/SoThenIThought_ Admin for WEBA.Law, WA Unemployment Benefits Aug 11 '21

You don't need more background, you just need to find a rep that will actually process the escalation

1

u/[deleted] Aug 11 '21

Agreed for my specific case - just feel so bad for ppl waiting so long to get their funds… especially since most aren’t reddit savvy to even know to escalate ugh

She is a staffer to

https://drewstokesbary.houserepublicans.wa.gov/

Who note against a bill that ended up passing:

https://app.leg.wa.gov/billsummary?BillNumber=5473&Year=2019&Initiative=false

Read the first 3 sentences of the bill

http://lawfilesext.leg.wa.gov/biennium/2019-20/Pdf/Bills/Senate%20Passed%20Legislature/5473-S.PL.pdf?q=20210811185212

That appears to be pretty anti-unemployment benefits

So, either go to

https://app.leg.wa.gov/districtfinder/

Putting your address and choose somebody other than this guy, or just do Senator Cantwell and Senator Murray right off the bat, and when they request that you do an information disclosure and you need to sign it, use docub.com
