In Progress... Skipping a Week?

I have a trip coming up so I won't be able to file that week. What is the best course of action, do I just ignore that week and not file or do I file but answer the questions about not being available? I just want to make sure I don't mess anything up for the week after we return. Thank you.

Hi there - I am happy to explain the mutual exclusivity of the 2 totally bifurcated response you've gotten so far. "So which is it, YES or NO?"

You can’t skip just one week. Answer the questions about not being A&A, provide any documentation showing you returned by a specific date if you have it. Because the law requires that if you are already receiving checks they must pay you until a decision is made, you will get a check even if you are not qualified for that period. Set that amount, including any withheld tax, aside for repayment. There is no penalty but it will have to be repaid when the week is disqualified later. You will have any tax you’ve had withheld applied when you do your 2026 taxes, so you ultimately get it back.

You can call them to have them move your claim forward a week

It means you can skip a week, you just have to call them
