In Progress... Submitted application on a Sat, learned here that was stupid. Should I skip and start claim week on Monday?
I started my unemployment application the day after my job ended thinking I would get ahead of things. I started reading here and it seems like I will waste a week of claims since the week runs through Sat. Would it make sense to not submit a claim for that week and start the following week to extend my eligibility or is it lost regardless? Thanks!

The soonest that you can apply is the Sunday following the job separation. Why?
Unemployment weeks start on Sunday and end on Saturday. This is why weekly claim prompts come out and they're asking you to report on the immediately concluded week that just ended last night at midnight
if an event occurs on Wednesday I can only report it on Sunday because that's when I'm asked about it
Highly recommend pursuing the handbook - you cant skip weekly claims
Handbook says a claim can be cancelled if its been 30 days or less since filling and now money has been paid. - You are likely to have a waiting week/excessive earnings on the first 2 weeks - probably don't need to cancel: read this copy and paste from the

It is not lost. You basically received a letter mentioning how much money they are going to pay you if you skip a week or two week it does not matter every week you get paid they deduct from the amount they calculated that you would get paid during the un employement year
