RESOLVED Troubleshooting for u/Far-Cap7839
How do I file claims for previous weeks after restarting a claim? Online on their website it stătea "File online in eServices or use our automated phone system if you want to either:
Start claiming with your current week. Claim consecutive past weeks you missed. (It's important to go in order. Start with the oldest week)." So it seems like claiming previous weeks is possible but when I went in today it only showed this week's claim and dint allow me to do any others.

Hi there u/Far-Cap7839 . are you new here?
Have you seen me have this conversation in the posts below you (it's been the same troubleshooting type conversation for about 2 years now so they're all listed below)? I would like to do the same thing if you would like to
I have a guide for this conversation because this is by far the most common conversation.
do you kind of know how this conversation works? generally, I provided a guide that structures the conversation because otherwise most often I get a huge amount of backstory but no real details not because people are dumb but because the system is so counterintuitive and opaque that they don't really know what I need to know.
are you cool with doing that? you will have to read the guide and follow it and then respond. both read. and respond accordingly
everyone with this question is asked the same questions. those are those questions below that you see me asking other people. we're going to be doing the same thing

This is the information we'll need
I WANT CUSTOM HELP, I WANT THE MOD TO WALK ME THROUGH IT SO I DON'T MAKE A MISTAKE
Pending? Info I need to help you; Initial eligibility Troubleshooting
- Date you applied
- name of open eligibility issues
- type of job separation

u/Far-Cap7839 Nov 17 '25
- I applied November 5th 2024
- My claim was disqualified on the 26th of October 2025 because of "separation from job" listed as pending issue
- I had to leave because my hours were cut. The employer told me to apply for unemployment because they didn't have work for us, then I eventually left because my hours went from 40 a week to about 25-30

My request:n ame of open eligibility issues
Answer:
My claim was disqualified on the 26th of October 2025 because of "separation from job" listed as pending issue
My Response: that is not the answer I was looking for. I just need to know the name of the eligibility issue and you are telling me that it is separation from a job. I get that you're trying to connect the dots here to understand this but you're not understanding this correctly and this is sending us on a tangent that's delaying your resolution. You think that you were disqualified because this is listed there:that's impossible. You just don't understand how this works: the thing that you just listed is the name of an eligibility issue that has not been decided yet. Not been decided yet. So it couldn't possibly have disqualified you because it hasn't been decided yet, please allow us both the patience for us to conclude this process so that you may understand how this actually works. please
ok so next
I had to leave because my hours were cut.
You quit? correct?

u/Far-Cap7839 Nov 17 '25
Correct

u/SoThenIThought_ Admin for WEBA.Law, WA Unemployment Benefits Nov 17 '25
You quit because your hours were reduced. The reduction actually happened or was in writing correct?

u/SoThenIThought_ Admin for WEBA.Law, WA Unemployment Benefits Nov 17 '25
u/Far-Cap7839 if the answer is yes then I have already attached the template/guide for your specific quit.
It is your duty to supply this prior to them making a decision; You are the moving party that caused the job separation, you quit so it is your duty to prove to ESD that you are eligible under state law. If you get this information after they make a decision then you're going to have to file an appeal and this will be presented in the appeal period you may need a lawyer to represent you we should talk about that at that if that happens
this is a good example of why it may not be wise to start an escalation and then do the troubleshooting because if you cannot package this information in time by the time you asked them to expedite a decision then it would result in ineligibility so it sort of is a cart before the horse situation

My claim was disqualified
are you saying this because all of the weekly claims that you filed are marked disqualified? Then
this is a separate issue that's resolvable apart from what we're doing in the initial eligibility troubleshootingcan you please respond just simply saying yes or no

Okay I just checked previous letters and I got one last month saying that I was denied benefits for 2020 and they said "We asked you to tell us about your work with ___. You did not respond. You do not qualify for unemployment benefits until you give us the information" This was for 2020 so what do I do? I don't have information about that job anymore

SIDEBAR: You are very close to a resolution, please continue with me for the next two to three replies and I will get you your template. I already know what template this is and that you would almost for sure qualify if you actually follow the template in its entirety - and thereby ask for help when necessary

WAC 192-150-120 - Reduction in hours of twenty-five percent or more—RCW 50.20.050 (2)(b)(vi).
https://app.leg.wa.gov/WAC/default.aspx?cite=192-150-120
(1) Your "usual hours" will be determined based on: (a) The hours of work agreed on by you and your employer as part of your individual hiring agreement;
- schedules or pay stubs that show hours worked, especially averaged over a moderate time frame, original hiring agreements, or statements about conversations of original scheduling. any and all of these that apply should be included; clearly demonstrate that there was an agreed to amount of days or hours, and that you were working those days or hours
(b) For seasonal jobs, the number of hours you customarily work during the season; or
- averaging scheduled hours and worked hours over in moderate time frame provides this
(c) For piecework, the number of hours you customarily work to complete a fixed volume of work.
(2) To constitute good cause for quitting under this section, employer action must have caused the reduction in your usual hours.
- troubleshooting requires that I ask the claimant if there was a shift change request or change of duties, or a temporary duty station, or a sickness illness or disability or work injury that would have caused this; something other than a unilateral decision by an employer.
(this is where the texts come in)
(3) All reductions in hours occurring since the beginning of your base period through the date of separation will be included in the determination as to whether your hours were reduced by twenty-five percent or more.
- All reductions include previous reductions, and this necessitates an average over a moderate time frame. The base year is the oldest five of four fiscal quarters, or if employment was less, otherwise the duration that the duration of employment
(That's why we talked about pay stubs)
(4) In determining the percentage of reduction, the department will not consider any temporary overtime or additional hours performed on a temporary basis.
- part of troubleshooting questionnaire, completed
---- So here's what we need ---
a very basic, specific statement specifically saying that on this day and at this time the employer unilaterally made the change. that you did not know that this was coming. that this is not seasonal work. this industry type is not seasonal. you did not request a change of duties or shift, there was not a promotion or demotion, you were not in a temporary duty station that ended nor was their temporary overtime or additional hours on a temporary basis. this was undoubtedly unilaterally decided by the employer. there were no actions by the claimant that would have requested this or suggested this result.
average amount of time work per week over the duration of employment, if less than the last year. brief calculation and attachment of applicable pay stubs
copies of text messages to corroborate the statement
with this you got a 99% chance of eligibility
