How active is the uni2 playerbase?

So I've been interested in getting unib sys celes but kinda on the fence about the price

Earlier this year I bought blazblue centralfiction and and I just couldn't get a single match, maybe it's just because I'm a newcomer and all the older crowd is in higher ranks, but ranked multiplayer was just completely dead. I only managed to find a single match and it was with someone with internet so bad that you're counting frames per minute.

So what I'm asking is: is unib in a similar situation or is the ranked mode still alive and well, especially from the perspective of a newcomer like me?

First up it will depend if you're on PC or not. Console has a much smaller community in general, most people are on PC

Ranked is pretty active in NA at least during NA primetime hours, basically when people get off work/school and until they go to bed. If you're playing outside of those hours it'll be more of a crapshoot

There are definitely newer/more casual players in the lower ranks, again, especially on PC in NA during primetime NA hours

All of that said, the ranked mode in this game is not great and I think the game is best enjoyed hopping onto the maincord and/or beginner lobbies cord and asking for games. There's almost always someone looking for games. The main cord has a link on the sidebar and you can find other places to play from there if you're interested
