It is a department store! Sells clothes and homewares (cooking utensils, office supplies, bedding, furniture, decoration etc) mainly

It exists in Australia & New Zealand, and used to operate in the USA but is now only online for Americans

It seems Kmart also operated in Canada, Mexico, Czechoslovakia and Singapore but they all closed down in the 1990s

Seems I did a bit of defaultism by assuming people would know what Kmart is 🤦 sorry!

Kmart australia has never been owned by kmart in america. We still have target as well (the company that owns kmart - westfarmers also owns our target, again never owned by the americans). They have always been different, home grown companies

There’s still one on Guam, so even U.S. territories still have them. A lot of people from the U.S. don’t realise places like Guam are part of the U.S. of course.

Since it also operated in Canada, Mexico, Czechoslovakia, and Singapore but they all closed down, doesn’t that make this post US defaultism since the commenter didn’t specify which country they are from?

true, but commenter didn’t refute people when they said he was American - he just replied to one person about something else

So what you're saying is that both the posters above AND you are USdefaulists?
