Bootcamp date

My recruiter said I’ll be leaving to bootcamp in either July or August. No official date yet, but he called me yesterday saying there was an opportunity to go to boot camp in two days. I’m on a trip right now, so unfortunately I won’t be able to go. I was just wondering if this is common? Either way I’m willing to wait, but I would like to think I would get another phone call like that when I’m back in my state. I’m assuming it’ll only happen if someone drops out of it, or switched their MOS right?

Yeah, somebody backed out somewhere and they’re trying to fill the slot.
