This castle stands on a cliff along the Amalfi Coast. It was built on the site of medieval fortifications that once protected the town from the sea. The current structure dates to the 19th century and blends neo Gothic and Romanesque elements. Its dramatic position above the road and sea makes it one of the most iconic views of the coast.
The Amalfi Coast became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997.
