I was accepted in Tilburg for this fall 2026 in the IBA program (international business administration) and I was wandering if there is a WhatsApp group for students or a group on some other socials?

Not your typical thesis survey: you actually get something back (5 min, Entrepreneurship/business related students needed)

Heyy,

I know, I know. Another thesis survey. Bear with me for two seconds because this one is different.

Instead of rating statements on a scale from 1 to 7 for 15 minutes, you actually do something:

You get a one-page brief on a realistic Dutch startup opportunity. You decide whether you'd commit your own time and money to building it. Then at the end, you get your Founder Archetype. a personalised profile of how you think under uncertainty and pressure. Think less "fill out this form" and more "let's see how your brain actually works."

The whole thing takes about 5 minutes. Around 50 people have done it so far and most say the archetype result is surprisingly accurate.

It's for my MSc Entrepreneurship thesis at UvA. I'm studying whether AI-generated analysis changes how uncertain and how confident people feel when evaluating a startup. Ethics approved, fully anonymous, no sign-up, no follow-up emails.

You qualify if any of these apply to you:

→ Founder or co-founder of a registered venture (running for 12+ months)

→ On a founding team with equity or real decision-making authority

→ Active in an incubator or accelerator right now

→ In or recently finished a master's or MBA in business, entrepreneurship, or management with at least one hands-on venture project

If you're a business or entrepreneurship student, you almost certainly qualify under the last one.

Link: founderchallenge.quest/

You can also participate in giveaway worth €700

Happy to answer any questions in the comments. And if you end up doing it, let me know what archetype you got, genuinely curious.

Textbooks, books, etc. How to get those?

I will be studying Global Law and I was wondering what it looks like with textbooks? Do students use PDFs or do they buy books every year? And if so, how do they find secondhand ones?

Link: https://surveys.tilburguniversity.edu/jfe/form/SV_ePfU1zkxU3tFBdQ

CSAI Matching Activity

Hey! I'm an incoming CSAI student and didn't attend the online matching activity on April 10th (I filled the questionnaire sent through email but couldn't attend). As I saw on the website, there's another matching tomorrow that'll be in-person but will also be available online, but I haven't received any emails from them about this.

This matching activity, as I saw on the website, is not mandatory for CSAI, but I still want to attend since I missed the last one.

If anyone knows anything about this, I'd appreciate your reply! Thanks in advance ;)

SPSS exam for Psych bachelor

I was wondering if there's any second or third year students that can tell me what the exam is like and what's useful to bring with you? I've heard the exam is easy but it still lowkey scares me since all we have for practice is the practicals.

Any comments on accommodation at The City?

Hi y’all

Wonder if anyone has stayed at The City before?
I’m an international student, and would love to live somewhere that’s chill and diverse.

I’ve looked into a few comments, some said they were overcharged on their electricity bills. Don’t know if things have changed.

Housing-related Student Housing Holland

Hey y’all!

I really need some help, preferably from people who already live in an accommodation from SHH.

In order to complete the booking, on the website its listed that we have to pay the remaining 11 months of rent + deposit in the following 7 days after the down payment is done.

Does anyone (who already went through this) know if its possible to pay the rest in separate deposits???
Bcz its highkey very absurd to pay a full year of rent in advance instead of paying per month, lets not forget the deposit.

If anyone can share their experience or renting with SHH, that would be great and very very helpful

Are the Tilburg University Dutch courses for international students worth it?

Hey everyone,

I’m starting my Pre-Master’s program at Tilburg University this coming September! Since I have some free time right now, I’ve already started picking up some basic Dutch through a few Udemy courses.

I was looking ahead at the workload for my Pre-Master's, and it seems pretty manageable, so I figure this is the perfect opportunity to properly invest some time into learning the language.

I noticed Tilburg offers specific language tracks for international students:

Has anyone here actually taken these specific courses? If so, what was your experience like? Was it actually useful and well-structured, or would you recommend looking elsewhere?

My main dilemma is that I have 12 ECTS credits I could potentially use for these Dutch courses. On one hand, learning the local language seems like a great use of time. On the other hand, I'm wondering if it would be smarter to spend those credits on academic electives instead—like a course specifically focused on academic thesis writing, which might be super valuable down the line.

Would love to get some perspective from current or past students. Is it worth burning 12 ECTS on the language courses, or should I save those credits for academic/thesis preparation?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Living Outside Tilburg (50mins) as an IBA Student?

Hi everyone,

I recently got accepted into the International Business program at Tilburg University and I’m currently struggling with the housing situation like many others

Because apartments in Tilburg itself are either extremely expensive or impossible to find, I’m considering moving a bit farther away, even if it means driving around 40 minutes to 1 hour by car.

I wanted to ask current students (especially IB students) how often you actually need to be on campus?

I would definitely try to attend as many lectures as possible, but I’m wondering whether the schedule usually requires you to be at university every single day because of tutorials, attendance requirements, group work, etc.

Do you think living that far away is realistic/manageable for the International Business program, or would it become too exhausting?

Would really appreciate any experiences or advice :)

Immigration Payment - Bachelor

Hello! I'm currently going through the immigration process as a non-eu student and am not sure about the amount that I'm supposed to transfer as there is no invoice provided.

Please correct me if I'm wrong: the amount of living expense is €13,620 and the tuition fee is taken from the "non-EEA 26/27" column in this file:

These two fees added would be the total amount that I should transfer.

One more thing, is there a separate deadline for paying the fees above? As I see on the Osiris portal, there's only one deadline for the overall application, which is May 26th.

It's holiday and weekend in the Netherlands, so I'm hoping to clear some things up as early as I can. Any replies would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Immigration Payment Invoice

I am an international student who's currently going through the immigration process on Osiris and would like to ask if there's an official invoice that includes all the fees that have to be transferred? I have calculated the total cost myself but wanted to make sure I'm doing it right as the amount of payment is quite large.

I have emailed the immigration coordinator, but since it is holiday in the Netherlands, it's gonna take a few more days to get their response.

Thank you in advance!

How people evaluate different low-cost marketing approaches used by startups?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently completing my Bachelor’s thesis for the Tilburg University program in Entrepreneurship & Business Innovation, and I’m looking for participants for a short survey.

The study examines how people evaluate different low-cost marketing approaches used by startups. During the survey, you’ll watch two short videos from a energy-drink brand called Mojo Maté and answer a few questions about your impressions.

  • Duration: approximately 5 minutes
  • Language: English or Dutch
  • Anonymous participation
  • For academic research only

I’d really appreciate your help, especially from fellow students. Every response makes a big difference for the reliability of the research.

Thanks a lot in advance!

Pre master Marketing Management

Hi!

I’m really interested in starting the premaster in Marketing Management in Tilburg, but I’m curious if anyone could share how many classes there are usually in person.

I’m based in Den Haag, and I won’t mind going 2 days a week, but if it’s over that it might be too much travel wise. Any advice or insights on this?

Thank you!

I built a Tinder-style app for finding student housing in Tilburg

Hey everyone,

I'm a Master's student at Tilburg University and, like probably all of you, I got completely fed up with the housing search.

So I built HomeSwipe, a free web app that works like Tinder, but for rental listings. Swipe right to save, left to skip. It pulls listings directly from agency websites (no aggregators, no middlemen) and updates daily.
https://homeswipe.company

It's still early and I'd genuinely love your honest feedback, what's broken, what's missing, what would make it actually useful for you. Roast it if you have to. I'd rather hear it now than after I've wasted months going the wrong direction.

Thanks
