General Discussion S3 E18 Spoiler
That was the most peaceful yet heartbreaking loss I've seen.
I'm glad Patrick gave Dr. Steiner an experience outside of his usual work as a coroner before he left. When he asked him to witness his death just so he won't need to be laid on the table for an autopsy after he's gone broke me. The amount of trust that he put on Patrick to be able to ask him that and the weight it must've had on Patrick. đ˘đ˘

Show Videos/Clips You can literally never get bored of watching The Mentalist
I just watched the video I linked below WITH A HUGE SMILE ON MY FACE! Even if you know all these scenes by heart, you still don't want to skip a single second. I think this is the only show I will keep coming back to and rewatching forever.
Btw, I have developed an incredible obsession with Simon Baker... so much love and a burning desire to learn more about him. I'm going straight back to Season 1 for a rewatch!

General Discussion Which episode actually saddened you the most? Spoiler
I'm watching the show for the first time. Currently finished S3E11 (for ref: the one with the murder of the girl who was writing a book about that... MMA? guy) , and idk why, this episode saddened me a lot. I mean this show has been all about murders and not a single episode made me actually sad, yet. But idk why, maybe it was her dad showing videos of her younger self or something, then her dad himself had a heart attack. Maybe the fact that he was the only one left of her family and would probably die alone one day... Ik it's just a story, but it made me wonder... there must be someone who is going through this irl. Which episode saddened y'all? Or... which episode do you believe has the saddest storyline? I don't really mind spoilers...

Jisbon Just bulldozer through the show, feeling empty
I've just bulldozed through the show. I feel empty, I feel the longing for wanting to watch more of jibson, read more of jibson. Don't get me wrong, the show has that cheesy vibe of crime tv, I started to get a good hook. But after that I couldn't stop watching just to see thej characters develop.
There is this longing in this relationship, it develops as two people who got to know each other for years, their emotions of being more than two people who are involved because of their jobs develop in the undercurrent of tragedy, despair and everyday life.
Patrick lives on with resilience and Teresa is just like any other person with a healthy bit of trauma to heal from.
Season 7 was my favourite. It does somewhat justice to all the bubbling emotions and takes away the build up. I wanted to watch more of their life. As more of their relationship comes to fruition. After all this tragedy as they finally find peace and happiness.
Season 6 deserves a mention too, the longing portrayed so accurately, with all that is left unsaid in those looks. With all the moments that are chased by something work related that needs imminent attention. With the realisation that this is a relationship they can't do without. None of the fanfiction conveys the depth of this navigation, even the show itself is busy with solving crimes. Love is ancillary to day to day life, yet so full of it.
Maybe I will write fanfiction of these two characters, urgh, I feel this emptiness. Does anyone relate?

General Discussion Vega & Cho Spoiler
Okay guys,
please tell me: Am I the only one that caught some chemistry between Cho & Vega? He is doing similar behaviour to her than he did with Summer. Like being a bit more rude, avoiding her, overreacting with the "did you ask the boss that you can ride with me to this diner"-THING etc. I felt like he was veeeery close to fall in love with her & I was so ready for a romance with someone where he doesn't need to be the hero cause the woman is already mature enough on her own (sorry Summer love you anyways â¤ď¸). But then she just died đ.
What do you think, so curious to hear your opinions.
(Also this is my first post here, couldn't imagine there is still an active fanbase and I hope this will be my Reddit-comfort-place haha)
Tiger, Tiger đ

General Discussion Whatâs the most clever thing Jane has ever done
For me is the San Joaquin killer storyline. Jane knew it was Panzer but realized there was no way he could really get him in prison. So was able to use his ego against him, he believed red John was dead so he felt fully comfortable to go on tv and bash red John and talk about how the SJK is much smarter and thatâs why he can never be caught and wouldnât be killed like RJ was. Itâs a dark storyline for Jane to set up Panzer but he did what he had to do and knew RJ would do that to him.

General Discussion Everyone talks about Jane⌠but watch Van Pelt
Amanda Righetti as Grace Van Pelt is the real MVP here. Simon Bakerâs work is exceptional â this scene never fails to move me â but itâs Van Peltâs quiet presence that really stands out. At this point, sheâs seen as the rookie, sometimes a bit impulsive, but here she shows real emotional maturity. The way she reads the situation, gives Jane space, and gently steps away without drawing attention to herself is such a subtle, beautiful piece of acting.

General Discussion Van Pelt's Personality in Season 5
Something about Van Pelt's personality changed when the actress got pregnant in real life. Because she was deskbound, her role just became rattling off whatever info she found on her computer. Did anyone else catch that? She became like a robot.

General Discussion Why does he do it?

I've often noticed Patrick Jane seeming to disregard the feelings of grieving family members or friends, especially when he's meeting them for the first time after a murder. I understand that close relatives and friends are often among the first suspects in a homicide investigation, but sometimes Jane comes across as intentionally insensitive or provocative. There have been several scenes where he asks blunt questions or makes comments that seem unnecessarily harsh.
Is this a deliberate tactic to get an emotional reaction and reveal something about the person, or is it simply part of his personality?

Red John As someone who is an avid fan of crime tv shows, like CSI, Criminal minds, Law and Order, NCIS, this is my top episode among all without a doubt.
This is just pure magic in writing, editing, acting...

Red John TT Spoiler
I canât remember in what episode/season but RJ tells Jane about the poem of Tiger Tiger. If this is the key that leads to and unlocks this well oiled machine of a secret society, why would RJ divulge this to Jane? Did he give him the clue to see if Jane was smart enough to follow the connections, did RJ just genuinely enjoy the cat and mouse game or did the writers at this point not fully know where the story is going to lead? Because would RJ risk getting the Blake association exposed?
Whats your thoughts?

General Discussion The Mentalist ruined other shows for me đ
Just finished my third rewatch, and once again I'm left with that empty feeling. Jane and Lisbon's relationship is one of the most comforting and warm dynamics I've ever seen on TV.
I miss the characters way more than I should. It honestly feels like there should've been a few more episodes before saying goodbye.
Please tell me I'm not the only one who keeps coming back to this show. :')

Season 5 Why is everyone acting like this?
Just got to season five, halfway through ep1, and why did Lisbon and Bertram act so shocked that RJ may have someone inside the fbi as if OâLaughlin didnât happen? Why did Bertram act like RJ having someone inside the fbi was the most ridiculous thing ever ? Everyoneâs behavior is so weirdâŚ
