1 day Pamir Highway drive - worth it?
I’m going to Tajikistan for 4 days. 1 day is for driving on Pamir highway from Dushanbe (shared taxi for 44 USD one way) and drop off at Roshtqala, where I’ll be staying for 2 days with a Tajik friend who would host me. And then 1 day of driving back to Dushanbe (another 44 USD). Would you say it’s worth it? Or should I do the Pamir highway trip properly in the future, because I see most travelers spend at least a week on the highway. Would just a 7 hour drive like mine show the highlights, even though it doesn’t even go the full length from Osh to Murghab? I’ll only cross Kalaikhum and Khorog on the highway and then Roshtqala. Instead would it be better to spend time in the Fann mountains? I’m not physically great to do trekking or hard hikes though, and I have limited budget. Also I’ve just been to Kyrgyzstan Song kul Jeti Oguz Issyk Kul and Kazakhstan around Almaty (lakes mountains), would the Fann mountains be a significant add on or just the same scenes? Thanks!

The drive from Dushanbe to Khorog is not 7 hours, it’s at least 12 hours on good days, if there is some event like rockfall on the road it might take more. From Khorog to Roshtqala again a bit of road it’s not that far though maybe max an hour.

Its a long drive it would take you 15-16 hours one way. I would allow more time
