Backpacking

I'm solo traveling and wanted to know from personal experience if it's possible to travel around fp for a month maybe more? How do I see the list of the family pensions? Where to stay for a budget trip?

I know it's not the best place for that but I still want to know where I should save my money and where it's worth the spending?

Thank you❤️

I know someone that has a pension at backpacker/hostel prices opening in Vaiare, Mo'orea (right near the ferry). Let me know if you want her name and contact details.

You could also look at a work/stay situation, we've hosted a couple who were travelling around for about 3 months by exchanging a few hours of work a day. Workaway website or some of the local Facebook groups can be useful to find this.

Good luck!

I’ve just finished a month solo backpacking around FP and it’s totally possible. You can get a 30 day pass for the Apetahi express which makes island hopping really easy, and I mostly stayed as hostels which I found on airbnb/booking.com which were all really nice and very social :)

Camping is an option! And camper van rental (though for a month that may be a lot)

there are definitely cheap pensions all over! it’s a little tough to research bc there’s no master list or anything anywhere. i had the best luck by zooming in on where i wanted to go on google maps and clicking in everything listed as a hotel. then you can make your list and reach out to each one. the areas are small enough that this is doable, there’s not like hundreds on options in each place
