This is horrible but every time i see Daphne on the screen i get irritated.
I watched this in high school a little and this is the first time, after years, i have really been able to watch it.
Daphne always bugged me. Shes pretty but annoys me somehow. I saw her on big bang and i was like “oh it’s that girl.ughhh”
I think it’s like.. the sweet girl act she has. Like “oh i don’t understand how this was wrong” and the way she treats Bay sometimes.
Daphne really hit the parent jackpot compared to Bay so far that i’ve seen.
yeah Bay got to hang with Regina and Angelo for a summer but for the longest time, everyone was all about Daphne. Bay barely said anything about it either.
Maybe i’m jealous for her lmao.
Maybe her character is just too boring. I don’t know. she bugs me. So much.

I am finally on the last episode of! I didn’t think I would ever get here because every time I would get irritated with the character, I’d take a break from watching the show.

I’m getting towards the end of the first season and I do enjoy the show and I have written a few opinions on here before.
So…this show has 5 seasons so much has happened just in this one season like a lot a lot of plots that I feel that should of waited until later seasons. like the lawsuit and Regina knowing and Angelo showing up, like what could the rest of this show possibly be about.

And honestly I still hate the same characters I did in my first watch when the show first aired. Daphne, Simone, John, and Melodie.
Characters I still like are Regina, Kathryn, Angelo, Toby, Adrianna and Bay. Yeah some of these characters had their not so great moments. But I wasn't super annoyed by it. Like I was with the characters I didn't like.
Has anyone else's opinions about characters stayed the same or changed through your rewatches?

So before I came on here and asked if Bay would get better and alot of people where telling me Daphne is the problem and yeahhhhhhh I don’t understand how she goes from so likeable to totally annoying, like I don’t get her problem, you basically came in and kinda replaced Bay and now your mad because she likes the boy you constantly friend zone and you’re upset because she wants a relationship with her REAL father when you always have access to YOURE real father. And you’re mad that he walked away but can you really blame Angelo?? Like he knew you weren’t his kid and he wasn’t cool with it.

Rewatching and Daphne eats shrimp on at least one occasion but possibly more. But didn’t she and Kathryn mention they have a shellfish allergy when they first met?
Edit: turns out the allergy was kiwi, I misremembered

i’m rewatching switched at birth and i forgot how ANNOYING bay is. she makes literally everything about herself all the time and she’s so dramatic. i forget if she ever gets better after season one, but it’s so hard to watch about any scene with her now.

there are parts of it i like (like i do think s5e5 is a fantastic episode) but just in general eh. i wonder if it would’ve been better season 5 got the episode count/rollout it deserved.. like if they had the time to flesh out a more complex plot?
i just feel like this show usually is way more nuanced.. like say what you will about the bay/tank rape storyline but i like that it’s not a black and white situation.

I was watching some episodes from each season and I realized that Regina never really sought out Bay. Like I know at the beginning both parents decided to meet up and get to know each other but I feel like she never got to personally spend time with her own real daughter. I get that it’s hard to rebuild that connection with a stranger even though it’s your flesh and blood but it’s like they never really got that bond. She did have some moments with her like doing art, painting or her teaching her Spanish etc but it feels like it’s mostly just her and Daphne. What do you guys think?

It's the second time late in the season that I'm seeing her stunt double being a middle aged woman. Which could still be fine but they're bad at disguising it. I just thought it was funny.

I’m watching this show for the first time ever and I do not care for bay, she is always negative and I understand why like I get it but every time she is on the screen she is just complaining about something.

I’m on s1e29. I’m totally grossed out by the Chef Jeff and Daphne relationship, it’s absolutely disgusting. Please tell me it gets better? Do I keep watching?
r/SwitchedAtBirth • u/keiraols • Apr 15 '26
i don’t mean this to sound slut shame-y it’s just an observation (and like slay).. but like within the first five episodes bay has 3 different boyfriends.
it’s also funny how there’s so many but daphne and bay constantly go after the same guys lol..
also also nikki is by far the worst gf toby had and simone literally cheated on him.

i forgot that originally SHE wanted to run. maybe it’s because i want to support her as a woman.. but she’s right when she says that she raises money for tons of charities and is very connected/involved in the community etc.. like ik she doesn’t have a background in politics (although neither did john i might add) but she’s does have a college degree.
idk what do you think?

I don’t even know what to say about Daphne and Chef Jeff. This is my first time watching this show at 21 years old, and Daphne being 16 and him 28 is just so insane and so weird, I don’t even know why this was a plot point. He honestly groomed her. So gross

Bay constantly saying “ah” instead of “uh” when she’s hesitant to say something.

I know it's a dumb question, but I thought it would be interesting to hear people's thoughts.
