Please help (bare with me)

Post image

Im providing a stock image as I don’t have many good pictures of mine. I have the Springfield saint edge EVAC a 7.5 inch ARP in 5.56 that’s known for being a “great truck gun” due to its ability to compact down to around 12 inches. Buffer tube and spring in the brace & the barrel has teeth & a pull button to compact that down as well. Me and my gunsmith are both dumbfounded why the pull button to release the teeth & twist the barrel / hand guard doesn’t sit flush all the way when trying to put it back together. Sort of a “one of” firearm so any and all input is really appreciated. Hoping it’s a simple fix as this gun has stole my heart

Why 556 for such a short barrel. 300 blackout is designed for short barrels. 556 is ideal at least 14

This is a question for Springfield Armory, CMMG, and the multitude of other manufacturers that make 5.56 with <10" barrels.

Im aware of that. But what makes you decide to get a rifle round that squibs at probably 150 because of the pistol length barrel. Just seems contradicting and stupid to me.

Mine is rated for 200yds flawlessly & has consistent but (fair ish) grouping at 400-500yds lol
