Remember after 9/11, members of the Republicans, namely the Cheney's pushed for war with China. At which point you're going why? It was just an excuse to lash out at anyone they decided is America's enemies. This was openly discussed in my local paper, although the commentator at least said it was a bad idea because China trades with us, didn't cause 9/11 (duh) and their military is most probably harder to crack than Iraq.
The fact that this was even discussed shows how fcuked up America is. Now we see more of the same thought processes.

Normal things in present day america.
- Supporting ethnic cleansing of 100,000 Gazans. Half of which are children.
- In support of this genocide, perfidiously allowing the bombing of an ally, during peace negotiations.
- Killing boat load of innocent North Korean civilians in some botched spy mission, again, during negotiations with North Korea.
- Killing another boat load of Venezuela civilians without evidence, arrests, or trials.
- Countless mass shootings at schools. There was a mass shooting at a school just today.
- Political assassinations of 2 elected officials in the last few months.
- Multiple assassination attempts against the current president in the last year.
- Also this guy got assassinated.
Americans glorify the violence they imposed upon millions in the global south, ignore the countless children they kill abroad, ignore the countless children that die to school shootings at home, but cries over this guy, who advocated for much of that violence.
Violence is the norm in america. When all you do is export violence abroad, don't be surprised if the violence you stoked comes home to roost.

The shooter hasn't even been apprehended or remotely identified yet, but that didn't stop Trump from going to the press and blaming the "violent" "radical left". Liberal news like CNN has essentially lauded Kirk as a "hero" and free speech champion, sanitizing his white nationalist image.
Expect heightened crackdowns.

I also happen to live here and I've checked out on the US too. The economic, social and political decline of the US is now so clear that everyone is starting to notice it. Earlier this year I put together an escape plan but it's looks like America is deteriorating by the day and I might need to cut my loses and go.

It's hard not to believe there's some conspiracy going on. While we wait for the suspect to be determined, "they" (i.e. U.S. Government, deep state or whatever) are deciding who to pin this on that would extract the most political bang for the buck. Whatever it is, it's going to sow further divide among Americans and the ones who profit are going to be ones pulling the strings. I see some of tweets on X, surprisingly, some of the right wing ones are saying even if they find out it's some "left wing trans" suspect, they won't buy it. It's too convenient.
