As a lesbian myself, I love the memes of her and Shakra, but try as I might I can't find any in-game dialogue to support rumors of romantic or sexual interest :(
Shipping is much more fun for me when there's at least some implicit flirtation or hints, rather than straight-out inventions by fans
They have not but fans have fun shipping characters in media together in this case either Hornet and lace (lacenet) or Shakra and Hornet (idk). Which with their in game representations would make hornet lesbian, but none of these are official, just popular fan ideas of shipping characters and having fun with fiction :)
Not really as its confirmed the gp are gay but while we know hornet has had partners we dont know what gender (could be all dudes all women or both as shes had many) which leaves it more up to fan speculation

With no proof of her being lesbian/bisexual it is kinda like thinking the Green Prince was bisexual (of course he couldn't be straight. Kinda silly of me to say so, with his story. Thanks for pointing that out. My fault there, but my question still stands.) By the same logic, we could also say that the Green Prince could have been interested in women.

That's reasonable. I just find it odd how the community threats them so differently and how she became synonymous with this Yuri image despite not really displaying such behavior in game (if anything she seems tired of romantical love as a whole)

To give a less mean answer than the other guy. It is because of the way she implied she tried to have children through the Eva dialogue. You don't call yourself a victim of the curse of infertility if you didn't try for offsprings first.
I’m not a shipper and I find the concept a bit strange but I assume people wouldn’t have any more of a problem with someone shipping the Green Prince with a girl than with a guy. From a non shipper perspective doing either is weird bc he’s actively mourning his late partner but as you said it’s exactly the same as shipping Hornet with someone when we have no indication she’d be interested in them. I don’t think any shippers actually believe their ships are canon it’s a bit like power scaling where you’re just creating your own content with pre-existing characters. So as long as you’re not actively going against established information about a character it’s free rein.

I mean even with Lacenet, Hornet 100% sees Lace just like she did her sibling once. Even to humor a romantic relationship between the two would be out of character for her. Shipping is kinda weird though. I just brought up the Green Prince because he is as likely to be with Hornet just how Lace is (both somewhat antagonistic at first but their relationship changes throughout the game), but it would make no sense narratively, yet one is the most popular ship on the sub while the other doesn't even have a ship name. (Now I am not saying I expected Green prince to be perceived as the main love interest lol. I just think the differences between the two don't warrant such a monumental difference in the fandom).
Realistically I would prefer neither get shipped with anybody. It kinda moves the point of their characters to something they are not.
There's this weirdly vocal community of reddit artists that goes around pretty much all video game communities depicting every character they can find as gay (with a particular obsession for lesbians).
The first I saw it was on the dragon age sub, but when veilguard came out and it sucked they seem to disperse to other popular RPG communities. They're very active in the BG3 sub and this one moreso recently.
That wasn't the issue, the guy in the picture is a legitimate pedophile. The image is saying people who like yuri or lesbian ships are pedophiles/ literally epstein
