Supporting Local Farms and Businesses

Hey everyone,

I recently moved to Silkeborg, and I’m very conscious about my consumption habits and where I buy groceries. I know there are plenty of large supermarket chains here, but I would prefer to buy as much as possible from local farms, markets, and butchers, even if it means paying a bit more, since I believe they deserve it for producing the food we eat.

Would you mind sharing where I can find this kind of experience in Silkeborg?

Are there any local markets where I can buy eggs, cheese, milk, meat, and similar products? Any local Bakery ? Butcher ?

Thanks for sharing !

Some things like meat, eggs and cheese you can buy on Saturdays at the town square. Otherwise there are various farm shops around, but you'd usually have to drive there by car.

Pølsemageriet just won the european championship in making sausages (the first time a non-german has won it). They are also quite concerned with their environmental impact

Lemming Nygaard is between Grauballe and Nisset. They have organic Hereford beef, and I think they do other stuff as well. Definitely potatoes, maybe eggs?
