Comics Discussion Who Would Be the Best Candidate to be Silk's Archenemy?
Cindy-65/Superior Silk: Cindy's alternate universe counterpart from Spider-Gwen's Earth-65 world who represents what would happen if Cindy was never bitten by the Spider and embraced a life of ambition and evil
Saya Ishii: Japanese Daughter of crimeboss Silvermane who became a ruthless international businesswoman and crime lord. Seeks to control Cindy by manipulating her life and possesses a mild attraction to her.
Morlun: A multiversal vampire-like entity who hunts "Spider-totems" (people with spider-based powers) for their life force. To protect her family and hide from him, Cindy was forced to spend a decade locked inside a steel bunker.

I think Morlun is Silk's Green Goblin/Jackal. And Saya Ishii is Silk's Doc Ock/Kingpin.

Earth 65 was thrown into the trash by Marvel when they brought Gwen to 616.
Morlun was a truly terrifying villain when he debuted, but his subsequent exploits took away some of that menace factor.
Saya definitely has the most potential, and unlike the other two candidates, she is only connected to Cindy.

The toxic yuri potential of Saya as long-term Silk nemesis is just too strong.
Cindy giving her yet another chance and working with her to deal with a threat, before Saya ruins it again ...
Saya getting possessive when other villains target Silk ...
Going after people like Luna Snow to get Cindy's attention ...
Oh, to live in a world where we got an ongoing with those kinds of stories.

As fun as having Saya be Cindy's Archnemesis™️ would be, with all the undertones and subtext that would have, I actually think Superior Cindy would be her most diabolical archenemy

I’d say Saya Ishii as there’s a more personal component to their rivalry. It’s like Peter Parker and Norman Osborn; it transcends the mantles and is about the people underneath. She’s interested in Cindy Moon.
With Morlun, it’s a bit more “professional”, meaning the villain isn’t interested in Cindy Moon so much as “person with animal totem powers”. It’s like Sarah Connor and the T-800 in the original Terminator film; he’s just eliminating everyone in the phone book with that name. No real rivalry or enmity there.

Man, I am rereading the old comics for the Earth 65 Spider-Gwen right now to write fanfiction. That character has a lot of potential, but they honestly mishandled her. However, she could go any direction now. I just don’t think that many people would be interested in seeing a side antagonist from a dead comic line from…
Jesus Christ, that was a decade ago.

Personally? Saya feels like the best option here.
Morlun's a great pick, but the only time I found him interesting at all was when he first fought Peter.

I personally would go with Saya, she has potential to be the Lex Luthor to Silk's Superman in the long run.

Saya.
Silk already killed Morlun and can do it again. He's just not really a threat any longer.

Have you ever stopped to think that there might be countless Cindys with spider powers throughout the multiverse, trapped in bunkers to avoid a prophecy that has already been averted?

Saya Ishii, I think there’s a lot to dig into with her controlling nature and attraction to Cindy - the woman is clearly obsessed and I think 100% has the potential to take on a role analogous to Green Goblin or Venom where she’s just hellbent on ruining Cindy’s life in a way the other two just don’t really have the personality or motivation for.
