[PS4] Need help deciding (gonna get only one) (assume Im getting all DLCs too)

  1. Red Dead Redemption 2
  2. Metaphor: Refantazio (or Persona 5 Royal?)
  3. Shadow Of The Erdtreee

  4. Nioh 2

  5. Lies Of P

  6. Dark Souls Trilogy

  7. Shadow Of The Colossus

  8. XCom 2

Games I really like:- Sekiro, Bloodborne, Spiderman, Hollow Knight, Armoured Core VI, Undertale, Portal, Horizon Zero Dawn, Balatro, Starcraft, Doom and a lot more.

Games I don't like nearly as much:- Phasmophobia, GTA, MGSV, Assassin's Creed Origins, God Of War 4, No Man's Sky, Terraria, Divinity 1

My favourite genre is souls likes, so, I had to include some of them in the list. Elden Ring is great, but just that Shadow Of The Erdtree never seems to go on sale, so I'm considering holding off on that for now until I finally see it on sale.

I am kinda looking to branch out a bit to other kinds of games. So, I have included the other stuff. I hear a lotta great stuff about RDR 2, but I'm a bit concerned about perhaps finding it boring. MGSV is a game I really didn't like cuz it seemed to feel slow and directionless and the open world wasn't helping it. I am not a big GTA fan either. Tho, I really love the worlds of:- The Witcher 3 due to immersion, Elden Ring and Spiderman (only game where I don't fast travel). Horizon Zero Dawn's world is nice too, but it's just not really the same thing.

I am interested in the Persona games, but I hear it has some of the weird anime tropes and some complex social systems which aren't present in metaphor in the same degree. So, I'm tilting towards Metaphor, but if you think Persona 5 is a LOT better, then just suggest that instead.

Don't know much else about the other two on the list. For XCom 2... I guess I like starcraft and chess if that counts. And uh.. Baldur's gate type of combat is kinda complicated for me.

For shadow of the colossus, I guess I like Nier Automata a fair bit...

Anyway, I am open to some other suggestions as well. I prefer some games that provide more unique experiences. I wanna kinda branch out to different kinds of games as well. (PS4 only. I do not have a PS5.)

I’ve played an enjoyed almost every game you listed and own or played almost every game you want to get too.

I would say RDR2, i would also say the souls trilogy but you might get burnt out trying to finish all three one after another

Lies of P came out at the perfect time for me. I know Elden Ring is critically acclaimed and everyone loves it (myself included) but I definitely think that game is worse off for being open world. The dozens of repeated dungeons and bosses you fight 10+ times each, don't add to the experience.

I would not say that Lies of P is an objectively superior game to Elden Ring, but I personally did enjoy it a lot more. It looks incredible, it runs extremely well, the gameplay is more fun than any Souls game (Bloodborne included), the story is really good and really well thought out. Then the DLC came out and improved on everything.
