Pregonta Casu Marzu, where to find it?

Hello, I’m going to Sardinia in early June and I am really curious to see and learn more about Casu Marzu — does anyone know where I can find it? Maybe a connection with a farmer or farm that does it and can show it to me?

I don’t know if I would even try it, but I do historical and cultural videos and this is such an important and unique tradition of Sardinia that I don’t want to miss!

Also, now that we are here. I’m also interested in good vineyards.

Pregonta Driving in Sardinia - Inexperienced Driver

I haven't driven since I passed my driving test in the UK (7 years ago). Mostly because I didn't need a car in London due to good public transport & high costs. Now we are( family with kids) planning a holiday in Sardinia during the summer months, but I've heard you cannot cover the best parts of Sardinia without a car. If that is true, how hard is it to drive in Sardinia? I was a bit of a nervous driver (especially in London), but I can take a refresher course in the coming weeks if this is feasible.

Pregonta No pizza at lunch time?

Is it a thing on Sardinia that pizza is only served in the evening? We just went to three different restaurants/pizzerias and left empty handed

Àteru Iphone corregge “minca” con “verginelle”

Titolo abbastanza autoesplicativo. Sta cosa sta diventando abbastanza spaventosa.

Hi! Me and my boyfriend are planning a trip to Sardinia in the next few weeks. We are hoping for a relaxed, beach holiday more than an exploring the city kind. Where would be the best base do you think?

Pregonta Where to stay in Sardinia?

Hey, I am going on vacation 29july-7august. I was wondering what is the best part of the island to stay, I am also thinking to rent 2 apartments(5days one and 5 days another). I found that norths and east have most beautiful beaches, so what about south and apatments there cause i can see there is a lot of them. I am interested in nice beaches the most, more like hidden and the ones that require hiking, but also not too far away. Everybody says Sardinia is a very big island so it isnt possible to see it all. So what do you recommend the most, and where to stay excualy?

Hello,

My wife and I will be traveling on our honeymoon next month, and we were hoping to receive recommendations for car services as we travel from city to city. We will be traveling with 3-4 checked bags and two carry ons. Our routes are listed below, and we would appreciate a recommendation for each leg of the trip:

OLB Airport to San Teodoro
San Teodoro to Porto Cervo
Porto Cervo to Palau (La Maddalena ferry)
Palau to Santa Teresa Gallura

Thank you so much for your help and recommendations.

Pregonta Advice for group trip to Sardinia in mid June

Hello, I am doing a 5 day trip with a large group of around 10 people for mid-June. We will be flying in to Cagliari and staying in Pula. Any suggestions on what to do for such a big group would be greatly appreciated. We are planning to rent cars so will be able to get around the island. Ideally, we want the trip to be a mix of relaxation/beach time and exploring.

Based on the little research I've done up to this point it looks like beaches such as Chia and Spiaggia di Tuerredda seem to be high on people's list for beaches somewhat in the area we will be staying in. Also seems like Villasimius is quite beautiful so was thinking about using two separate days towards each of these places. I also noticed that many of the famous boat tours and scenic caves/waters seem to be more in the north/north east. We are pretty keen on doing a boat rental for a day. Is it worth it to do a day trip up there for that reason? Are there alternatives for boat rentals/tours closer to the south of the island as well?

We are also hoping to have at least one night out involving some clubs/bars. If anyone has recommendations for popular sports in Cagliari or somewhere in and around Pula, this info would also be greatly appreciated.

If there are any must-see/do things in the south that I have not mentioned, please let me know. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated :)

Cunversatzione Car rental in Alghero with debit card only?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking to rent a car in Alghero for 4–5 days.

The main issue is that I don’t have a credit card, only a Visa/Mastercard debit card in my name. I know some rental companies accept debit cards for payment online, but then still ask for a credit card for the deposit at pickup.

Has anyone recently rented a car in Alghero using only a debit card? Any companies you would recommend or avoid?

I don’t need anything special, just a small car with A/C. I’d mainly like to know if debit card was accepted for the deposit and whether they forced you to buy extra insurance.

Thanks!

Pregonta Luggage transfer and storage

Hello everyone! Myself and my partner are looking to get our bikes (in boxes) picked up from Alghero on June 9th and dropped to Olbia on the 13th of June. Any suggestions for luggage transfer companies that could help? I have reached out to several but no success and we are getting stressed 🙃

Long story short, we will be leaving Alghero on the 9th to go to Cala Gonone for a few days but don't need or want our bikes with us, so need to find a way to get them to Olbia airport for our journey home on June 13th.

Of course there is the option of renting a van but we would like to avoid this if it all possible to avoid car rental hassle and overall road stress!

Thanks in advance for any tips or help

Pregonta Traveling to Sardinia with my Family in July -- what is the best area to stop if you will not have a car?

We like to go to the beach/pool, eat & sleep on vacation. No major excursions and things like this. WE just like to chill basically. But at night we do like to go to nice dinners and what not.

So we are wondering what is a good area to stop so that we don't have to drive 1 hour to go to a restaurant every day. Also - what are some must see/do things in Sardinia?

Thank you for your time.

Pregonta 10 days in Sardinia with 4 year old end of August need help planning.

My family and I are planning a 10 night trip to Sardinia end of aug beginning of sep and would love recommendations.
We’re traveling as 2 adults + a very easygoing 4 year old. We travel often with her, so changing locations every 3 to 4 nights should not be a problem. We are flying to Olbia and renting car to Orosei.
Current itinerary:
• 3 nights in Orosei
• 3 nights in Alghero
• 4 nights in La Maddalena
We’re interested in
• stunning scenery
• beautiful beaches
• charming towns
• coffee/pastry spots
• evening strolls
• relaxed family atmosphere
• authentic food
• hidden gems
• scenic drives
A few questions:
Best areas/hotels/Airbnbs to stay in around?
Are Gulf of Orosei boat tours worth it with a 4 year old, or too exhausting?
Favorite beaches near each area?
Any towns/villages we absolutely shouldn’t miss?
Any mistakes tourists commonly make in Sardinia?
Any restaurants/cafés that felt especially memorable?
Would love any advice from people who’ve done Sardinia with kids or slow-travel style trips. Thanks!

Cunversatzione Planning two boat days: Baunei & La Maddalena. Help me figure out which to DIY vs. private charter (and best charter recs?)

Hi!

Planning my husband and my early July trip and trying to nail down two boat days:
The plan:
• One day in Baunei (Golfo di Orosei area — Cala Luna, Cala Mariolu, etc.)
• One day in La Maddalena Archipelago

For one of them I want to rent a small, no-frills RIB and just explore on our own. For the other, I’d love on a luxury private charter on a really nice boat with a captain.

My questions:
1. Which destination do you think suits the self-drive RIB better, and which is the better fit for a guided private charter? My instinct is that La Maddalena’s waters/currents might be trickier to navigate solo, but I genuinely don’t know!
2. For whichever one you’d recommend for the luxury private charter, what are the best operators? Looking for something genuinely high-end: a beautiful boat and a skipper who knows the best spots. Budget isn’t the primary concern, quality is.

Any and all advice appreciated, especially from people who’ve done both areas. Thanks!

Pregonta Lost and found Cagliari airport

I flew home from a lovely week’s holiday in Sardinia on Saturday and stupidly left my sunglasses in the tray during security. I emailed lost and found and received an email stating they’d been found and I’d have a year to collect them but:

‘You can do so in person at our office on the second floor of our airport, or you can delegate a trusted person or courier to handle the collection, packaging, and shipping (all costs are your responsibility). You must provide them with a paper proxy, indicating your details, a description of the item on the day you lost it, the reference number found at the top of the page, and the name of the person or courier you wish to delegate. You must also provide a paper copy of the owner's identification document. The person delegated must give me the proxy, and the proxy must Please also provide a hard copy of your ID upon collection.’

I’ve put a post on my socials seeing if anyone is flying to/from there within a year. But realistically how would I be able to arrange a courier in Sardinia? Alternatively would anybody know a way to pay to get the sunglasses to me. They are prescription, my favourite pair and have been discontinued so I’m desperate for them back!

Edit- Should have added I live in the UK

Pregonta Trip to South Sardegna

Dear all,

My girlfriend and I are going to Sardegna end of September and we are still planning our route. I know there are already many posts and questions about this topic, but after researching for days I thought I would just ask here directly.

We land in Cagliari and will pick up a car at the airport. Our current idea is to drive to Pula and stay there for 3–4 nights to relax and enjoy a few beach days. In the evenings, we would love to go out for an aperitivo and have some nice dinners. From what I’ve read so far, this should be possible in Pula.
After that, we would like to stay at an agriturismo somewhere a bit further north, more in the centre of Sardegna, for two nights to experience a different side of the island. We have one in mind, but if there is someone who can recommend a nice one, feel free to drop the name!
But now comes the struggle: we really don’t know where to go after the Agriturismo. We are thinking about heading to the east coast from there. Our dream would be a place with beautiful beaches, beach bars, good restaurants, and a slightly livelier atmosphere where we can spend a few more relaxing beach days without changing accommodation too often. Ideally somewhere where the beach is basically in front of our noses and we can just enjoy a couple of beers by the sea.
We have 11 nights in total and don’t want to move around too much.

The rough idea is:
• a few chilled beach days around Pula
• two nights at an agriturismo
• then some more nights somewhere nice on the coast, maybe east coast
• and finally, the last night in Cagliari after returning the rental car the day before our flight

Does anyone have recommendations for where to go after the agriturismo? Maybe towns, beaches, or areas that could fit what we are looking for?

If this just gets ignored because it’s the thousandth post about a trip to Sardegna, so be it — but I thought I’d ask anyway :)

Cheers, M.
