Mysterious sword

This sword from the « tales of earthsea » has been haunting me since I saw the movie, where does this sword design comes from ? I searched and I found its kind of German inspired, tho not sure about that I could be totally wrong. Please help me find out. Thanks !

Before people downvote this comment down further, a bollock dagger is a real thing.
Some daggers are as long as swords, and the longest recorded bollock dagger was around 50cm (around 20 inches for you Americans) which is as long as some swords during medieval times (most regular swords were around 70-80cm long, but some short swords were typically around 50-60cm)
