Gap in Peen?

I recently received this Type 18c sword by Swordier and noticed that there’s a gap in the peen. It’s mostly on the one side but the other side has a slight gap too.

Should I be worried about this? It’s wide enough to fit a exacto blade through the gap. I’ll contact Swordier and see what they say but is this a normal amount of gap?

What is funny is historical high craftsmanship swords had much MUCH worse fitting than even the most budget ones made today.

Machine precision didn't exist. Artwork was praised for its ability to be symmetrical and even then it was not straight on a ruler at all.

Yeah, the usual standard was "looks good enough."
